Throw your dollar bills and leave your thrills all here with me
And speak but don't pretend I won't defend you anymore you see
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for you
My eyes don't need to see that ugly thing, I know it's me you fear
If you want me hold me back

Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"

I don't need a friend, I need to mend so far away
So come sit by the fire and play a while, but you can't stay too long
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for pleasure
I see my heart explode, it's been eroded by the weather here
If you want me hold me back

Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"

Hold your eyes closed, take me in
Hold your eyes closed, take me in

Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"

General Comment:I know this song is obviously about drug use but, I thought it relates pretty well to a guy dating a stripper too and how he's uncomfortable with her profession but doesn't give in to his inhibitions. She gets high off of the attention but he wants her to leave that business where it lies and if she wants him she'll have to hold him back from her work. He tells her that she should tell herself that she'll be the death of him because he loves her but her job just frays his nerves. "Hold your eyes closed, take me in" pretty much gives away the meaning of this song and how it's about drug use though. Great song.

General Comment:This song is definitely about drugs Shaun had a really bad problem with opiates he had to cancel a tour because of how bad his addiction got at one point. Hes talking about trying to quit but "this feeling/pain never fails" parts are about him getting dope sick from not using and trying to quit and "so we go back to the remedy" so he uses again and it just keeps going and going. Do a little research about it and you'll see he had said countless songs he wrote are about his battle with drugs.
