The song Dare, believe it or not, is about masturbating. For example, the lyrics "its coming up" means to get an erection.(It sounds gross, I know) Because of the lead singer's British accent, he was...

It's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up
It's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up
It's dare

It's dare

You've got to press it on you
You've just been thinking
That's what you do, baby
Hold it down, dare

Jump with them all and move it
Jump back and forth
It feels like you were there yourself, work it out

Never did no harm
Never did no harm
It's dare
It's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up
It's coming up, it's coming up
It's dare

It's dare

You've got to press it on you
You've just been thinking
That's what you do, baby
Hold it down, dare

Jump with the moon and move it
Jump back and forth
It feels like you were there yourself work it out

Never did no harm
Never did no harm
It's dare
It's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up
It's coming up, it's coming up
It's DARE
Never did no harm
Never did no harm
It's dare
It's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up
It's coming up, it's coming up
It's dare

You've got to press it on you
You've just been thinking
That's what you do, baby
Hold it down, dare

Jump with the moon and move it
Jump back and forth
It feels like you were there yourself work it out

You've got to press it on you
You've just been thinking
That's what you do, baby
Hold it down, dare

Jump with the moon and move it
Jump back and forth
It feels like you were there yourself work it out

Song Meaning:Well i have seen most people say its about drugs or sex but i have always thought of this song asa conflict between ones self. like when she says " you have to push it on you" shes kind of pushing her self to do something but she really does not want to. and with the line " never did no harm" shes kinda trying to talk her self into it. As for the "its coming up, its dare" part they added it because when they where recording he asked for the to turn of the head phone and as they where doing so he said " its coming up, it coming up, its there" but there sounded like dare. Lastly the part where she says " act like you where there your self" shes kinda imagining what it would be like if she did do it, but thats just my thoughts on it.

General Comment:It's on the basis of drug use.
(It's comin' up, it's dare) These lyrics are probably describing the rush of taking a drug or the release of the armband after injecting heroin.
(Never did no harm, it's dare) Here I get the idea that the rapper is daring the singer to take these drugs and re-assuring her that 'it never did no harm'.
As for the lyrics during the singing, this is just a description of the experience of being high. I know that a lot of people say that other Gorillaz songs are based on drugs but this one definitely is.

General Comment:You people are so retarded... why is it that you must go on every song ever and say it's about A) drugs or B) sex?

My Interpretation:It's about someone imagining (or seeing) a woman masterbatin... Quite obvious (IMHO)

General Comment:i think this song was probably based off ecstacy or heroin. ive never done heroin but i like to get down to some disco biscos and this song made sense and made me fucking good while i was rolling. if you think of the different meanings the lyrics could have, there is definitely room for this song to be about an mdma experience.

Memory:In the early part of the song, when noodle is singing in a high pitch voice.....

You've got to press it on you
    You've just been thinking
    That's what you do, baby
    Hold it down, dare

it reminds me of a song from the 70's or early 80's. In the old song it could be a white guy singing like a black guy and in the background, you hear a party and I think ice clinking in glasses. Its a real laid back song that was played on the radio a lot. Anyone remember it? It's driving me crazy...

Song Meaning:While the song is sexy the words and video do not appear directly sexy. Overall impressions derive from mixed media and sensations. Feels like abstract art or pure homo sapien research and development. Phrases that stick out include "you have to press it on you" and "work it out" "like you were there yourself". One interpretation may suggest the artists is recommending the listener to "experience the moment" jump with the moon (symbol of the subconscious) and live life for you! Just an idea.

General Comment:This song is about oral sex. Particularly on a man.
    "Hold it down, dare (there)"
AS in, hold your head down on the base.

    Crude, but true

General Comment:Ah! You guys are ridiculous. I'm no literary scholar, but not EVERY Gorillaz song is about drugs for Christ's sake! Just chill out.

General Comment:I always thought this was about sex. Or heroin. Either one is okay.
