Heroin, It's about heroin!!

whether they knew that when they covered it, I can't say (it was during there 'mature' phase, so probably)

But i mean, come on, look at it:

"Space travels in my blood"- bloodstream, where heroin is injected!

"under my skin"- as above

"I can face your threats
Stand up tall and scream and shout about it" -the sense of confidence!

"Oh God we won't live without it"- an addiction

"long journey's wear me out"- being strung out and this not being able to sleep

I mean, come on, all the references to space- freedom, an unbeatable high

You have to look at it metaphorically, its like Lou Reed's Perfect day, for years i thought it was about a girl, but again, its about heroin! I mean these people are hardly going to call a song "i love heroin", its just a bit too brazen...really...

This song is about heroin. Period. Peter Perrett, who originally sang it, was a heroin user whose drug addiction eventually broke up The Only Ones. Listen to the original and tell me that guy wasn't doped up. At the very least, it is a song about a girl that makes you feel so great it is like being on heroin. The opening guitar solo is also pretty terrible in this version. At least the Replacements made an attempt to preserve the anthemic guitar work, even though they were probably drunk on their asses.

FYI the song was written by Peter Perrett of The Only Ones, and he was/still is a heroin addict. Although only a theory, it is said the song is about the joys of taking drugs. The refferences to rehabilitation, "I look ill" (not said in Blink 182's version) and "I can't live without it" (also not in Blink 182's version)indicate that this is the case. It is CERTAINLY not about loving a girl, although that is how it appears, there are hidden messages in the song which people do not understand (Blink 182 included)

And I prefer the original version. It was unique, Blink 182 make it sound like a trashy American pop song. That is not the type of song Another Girl, Another Planet is. It's like doing a cover of Anarchy in the UK and singing it like these muppets.

What a catchy tune....actually didn't guess this was a cover, which means they did a great job of it. Every1's right, Mark's voice is a good fit for this song. Too bad Blink won't be back....or will they?

Yes it is about herion, masquerading as a simple love song. The original is from the criminally underrated English punk band, The Only Ones from 1978. And yes, the original is better.

"Another girl, another planet" means that every junk brings you to a different and new world. The "girl" is just a kind of heroin. This is a beautiful love song about heroin...
