You are a sun Goddess
Will you save me?
Hooray for you.
Hooray.
Now the rain it comes, the rain it blurs the grey line
...the grey line...the Greyhound home
You are so vicious (Hurt me, I can take it)
Cause it's all in the heat of the moment,
It's all in the pain
Sonar, sonar again...
It's on again, (got no wings...gossamer wings...) ...on again...
You are a sun Goddess!!!
Will you save me? ...babe...babe...babe...
Cause it's all in the heat of the moment
It's all in the pain!!!
So give in to the heat of the moment
Give in to the pain!!!

General Comment:I agree with most interpretations relating this song with his relationship to his girlfriend/wife.
However, the first time I listened to it, I had another impression.
I thought this song was talking about Devin's relations to drugs and drug addiction. His "sun goddes" is the drug he uses and the effects it causes on him. It feels like he uses drugs to escape from himself, but he can't forget about that and he wants to be saved. He feels a greater pain when he is under the effect of drugs, and he wants to be redeemed in some ways through this pain.

    Devin is a genious, people.

General Comment:I interpret this song as the narrators apparent obsession with their significant other even though they are abused mentally or physically in the relationship. The song details the rocky relationship of splitting up, getting back together, fighting, etc.

General Comment:I don't think it's just sexual... I'd be disappointed if it was, I think there's too much emotion for it to be that. I agree with BobbyjointRitual and think it's about how perfect his girlfrend/wife is, but his own inner unhappiness meaning he provokes her to treat him badly, therefore he feels he deserves it and actually quite enjoys it.

General Comment:Sounds to me like it's about atonement... Like he's done something he feels guilty for and wants the person he's wronged to hurt him as a penance.

General Comment:Could be saying don't hold back... get wild or even rough (hurt me). Gossamer means delicate, so it could be describing the different dimensions of the subject. Take note of the fact that the words are directed at someone specific, where most songs are just sort of speaking in general. Sun and rain further supports the possibility of describing the different sides of the subject. Maybe it's about female complexity. Pain is sometimes desirable in the context of losing control, excitement and arousel, and getting attention... so it's possible he's talking about an intimate situation. Whatever he's saying, it's spectactular and definitely passionate.
