Lyrics for In My Head as interpreted by RainbowDemon

In My Head Lyrics
It's the cruelest joke to play
I'm so high, I run in place
Only a line, we separate, so...

Chorus:
I keep on playin our favorite song
I turn it up while you're gone
It's all I got when you're in my head And you're in my head so I need it

You're the only thing I've got,
That I can't seem to get enough
We collide for one embrace, so...

Chorus

Hurry up & wait forever
Hurry up & wait for forever

Why isnt anyone saying anything? This is a pretty cool song, it's pretty much about having someone in your thaughts while they are gone. Anyone catch the performance on SNL? it was pretty good.

I think this song is actualy about drugs, just like most of josh's love songs. Like the bit "Only a line, we separate" as in making lines and "We collide for one embrace" meaning hes peaking and also many other lines. Just think about it and you will see.

Ever had a song that suits your relationship perfectly? This is the song, for that song. When you break up, your likely to do mushy shit like play it non stop. I dont think its referring to drugs at all. When you break up with someone thoughts of them ususally fill your head 24/7. And playing 'your song' gives you some sort of sad relief.

ok the song is not about drugs. josh homme just does so many drugs that the word stoned or high usually comes up somewhere in a song. this song is about being away from someone you love and them being just out of your reach, like you can almost taste them they're so close, but theyre not there. "only a line we seperate." just a line. thats all that seperates, but theyre still seperated. so he's got a song that reminds him of her, which he puts on repeat whenever he has to be away from her, because "its all i got, when youre in my head, and youre in my head, so i need it." good song.

phatttie, he did not say this song is about fucking. He said they were gona play a song from the desert sessions about fucking, then played "i wanna make it wit chu"

this song is also originally from desert sessions. So it could very easily be about getting high and listning to music

drugs. specifically cocaine, and lots of it. if you've ever been sitting around in a lounge or something on a coke bringe with music blaring away and a friend or two nearby, and you're chatting away, doing lines, chatting again, and then s/he gets up to take a piss or get a beer/whatever & usually takes longer than he said and by then you've lost all momentum and the convo feeling is gone so just turn up the music to drown out negative feelings and numb things further.

i think this is the situation and feeling he is trying to encaspulate. may be wrong, but that's how i see it based on my experieces with drugs.

I think i remember seeing an interview with Josh Once where he said he didn't do any drugs at all (except smoking & drinking), he seems like a ladie's man, so my bet is that this song is actually a standard love song, like it or not. He said in another interwiev something like "perfect rock has to be heavy enough for the guys and sweet enough for the girls" so i wouldn't really be suprised. Great song anyway.

From reading the quotes is easy to say that "Love is a drug". If your either a lover or addict this song still applies however you interpret.
