I guess this is the rushed goodbye
That I thought would never come
The woman who lit the light
For a family in the dark
Starring at the mirror
I see your smile through my own
Your spark embedded deep inside
Will give me strength
Will give us hope

And I'll never lose your touch
No I'll never lose touch

This will take me a while
Because I miss your smile
I guess I new your time would come
But for now I miss your smile
It's gonna take me a while

Thank you for your loyal stance
Green spandex and crazy style
Thank you for the happiness
That you gave to our lives
Although now our hearts are cracked
And our tears are slow to dry
We must count ourselves
The lucky ones
For we were with you in your prime

And I'll never lose your touch
No I'll never lose touch

Please stay in touch
Because I need you in my heart
Please stay in touch
I need your touch

General Comment:yes, I do agree, it's about his mother/grandmother dying, it wouldn't be about his girfriend leaving him, how would you see your ex-girlfriends smile in yours?? T.T dump that idea, and it couldn't be about his wifes gramdma or whatever, coz once again, he wouldn't say that he sees her smile in his, so yer, either HIS grandmother, or his mother.

and it is a beautiful and moving song, it's lovely and I listen too it all the time, it's awesome =]

General Comment:i love xavier, he's so... raw. everything about him is just so honest and positive, that last bit being something rare these days.
This song is about his mother/ grandmother or some older female he loved very much passing away and how she will stay with him forever. I want to say it's his mom because of the line
"I see your smile through my own
Your spark embedded deep inside "
It's so sweet, peaceful, and a positive look at something negative.

General Comment:my best friend's bf is going into the army at the end of january, and a few weeks ago he played this song to us saying he wants it to be his funeral song, just as a semi serious joke. i really liked the song but once he said that it kind of took a morbid turn for me cos it does suit him especially the lines

"thank you for your loyal stance
    green spandex and crazy style"

    it's a beautiful song though.

General Comment:I agree this is about his mother passing.

But this song reminds me of a girl I met last weekend, a backpacker who had an absolute killer smile, we clicked and spent the next 2 nights together. Then she had an Itinery (spelling) to follow and left, we were both quite shattered.

    Anyway, the whole;

"I guess this is the rushed goodbye
That I thought would never come"
    Was very fitting, aswell as

This will take me a while
    Because I miss your smile
I guess I new your time would come
But for now I miss your smile
It’s gonna take me a while

    and

    Please stay in touch
Because I need you in my heart
    Please stay in touch
    I need your touch

General Comment:This song is definitely about somebody much loved passing away. It sounds like a breakup song too, except for:
    "Thank you for the happiness
That you gave to our lives
Although now our hearts are cracked
And our tears are slow to dry
    We must count ourselves
    The lucky ones
For we were with you in your prime"
To me it's very clear it's about somebody dying or moving away. 'Keep in touch' could be someone moving away, or it could be a romantic way of missing a dead person?

General Comment:I actually know what this song is about, he talked about it in a recent concert - its his wifes grandmother dying a number of years ago. Great song, one of his best - although an old one he never plays called Nevonotesh is probably my favorite

General Comment:this song is definately about either his mother or grandmother passing. "The woman who lit the light
For a family in the dark" shows that this lady was a good provider for an otherwise struggling family. "starring at the mirror, i see you smile through my own" his smile is something passed down to him through his genes, hence the relative.

He writes such beautiful music does Xavier, sometimes its hard to see the full meanings behind his songs..
