she's the sun - he depends on her
you are the only one - umm... duh. also goes along with the sun
you are so cold - she doesn't return the feeling. LOVE how this is the opposite of the (warm) sun.
you are so rock and roll - part of the reason he likes her so much is that her being cold and aloof makes her more like a star, more desirable.

I like this song. Billy wrote it for the bassist, Charlotte, who is also his girlfriend as it turns out. It's not my favourite song on the album, however. That's reserved for 'Mary' or 'I Want To Hear What You've Got To Say'

Great song, very simple and very catchy indeed BUT the lyrics are somewhat horrid...they are by far the weakest aspect of the song

i heard it on the OC too. but i dont like it BECAUSE it was on the show. i like it because its amazing and theyre different than a lot of other bands out there :).

meanings obvious: boy really likes girl b/c shes rock and roll.

this is the first song i heard of the band...

This is a spectacular song, but I think the lyrics are shitty.
Ahh well, I still love it.

Also, I agree with goosy1281, the O.C. plays alot of good music, but I hate it that people only like the music BECAUSE it's on the O.C.

OC is a horrid show, but if there's one good thing I can say about it, it would be that they are bringing good music to the commercialized public...

I Found out about the Subways when they were on My favorite Show-THE OC! They played this song And i Instantly loveeeed it. It is the best song to sing and dance to. YAY!

this song is so fun, it is one of those that when you hear it you go "OOH YAY!"
it seems like he likes a girl but she doesn't really like him back (hence the "my heart is blue for you", "you are so cold")?
