Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

My Interpretation:"He steps between the trees, a crooked man
    There's blood on the blade
    Don't take his hand"

The woodsman supposedly killed the Big Bad Wolf with his axe and therefore saved Little Red's life. I take the title, coupled with those three lines to mean that "someone's in the wolf" meaning that the wolf is in the woodsman now; has turned him into a werewold. It's interesting to think about in that regard actually. You could also take it to mean that there was more than one Big Bad Wolf all along (wolves and packs and all that) so the woodsman could've been a wolf the whole time (a crooked man--pretending he's righteous and doing the right thing, but really he isn't). The title says a lot to me about how the wolf was also a man, hence "Someone's in the Wolf" for comparison purposes think: "wolf in sheep's clothing".

    Just my thoughts.

General Comment:put the lyrics and the music video together.
(I believe it has a double meaning.)

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...
(You see a young woman lost in the woods, only to be found by a pack of werewolves
"You dont find the way, the way finds you")

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
    What's behind them...
(The wolves are seducing the woman, when really their motives are evil in nature)

    So glad you could stay
    Forever
(Instead of the women running away, she's staying.)

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
    There's blood on the blade
    Don't take his hand
(somewhere around here i think it shows the wolves creeping on a little girl inside a house, possibly the young woman)

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
    He's creeping too..
    (pretty self explanatory.)

    So glad you could stay
    Forever
(around this point in the music video the werewolves take off their masks only to put on sheep masks. They leave the forest and get on an airplane and leave to a certain location, only to have the innocent woman wearing a wolves mask creeping on them.)
kinda like a hunter becomes the hunted kinda deal.

General Comment:This song relates to me as it should everyone. A tale we all know, and have heard many times before. Everyone has different interpretations of it.

General Comment:wow you can hear knives...that is freaky. I hear like an uncorking sound then something being poured too. I think we're all in the wolf. Homme sings us his Lullabies to paralyze the beast so he can cut us out into the real world.

General Comment:Someone is getting eaten in this song. From 5:19 on, there are sounds of someone sharpening a knife or something.

General Comment:It's definitely using Red Riding Hood. If there's a secondary meaning, it's up to anything. But honestly, I think our boy Josh was just reading Fairy Tales. The whole album has that feel to it, so it's not so far fetched that it's just based on a story.

General Comment:awesome song. the ending part gave me chills down my spine the first time...and second and third...you know after the meat cutting part.

Why?`Cause just before he kept saying ''so glad you could stay forever''. That`s the wolf thinking. Then when the music rushes it`s like the wolf is running after you, and you run as fast as you can for your life, in the dark, but you know he`ll still catch up to you, and you panic, and you scream...

Then someone will be in the wolf.

General Comment:I like Hogan's interpretation that it's about sexual predators preying on innocent girls/virginal girls. The song definitely feels very charged with sexual energy. I'm guessing the person involved uses innocent/virgin girls and in a way keeps their innocence with him forever. The big strong heroic woodsman character and the wolf are equated to the same person.

General Comment:Guys, this song is about losing/taking virginity. Or so i think.

The fairy tale little red riding hood is all about losing virginity. They used to call a man a wolf back in medieval times due to the way some acted with raping women all the time. Why do you think the little red riding hood's cape is red? Virginal Blood.

    ANYWAY, on to the lyrics.

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

I think this is saying that he has blue eyes, and the first time she sees his eyes she gets lost in them, and there is no return.

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
    What's behind them...

This girl is defying the "fates" by being somewhere with someone she shouldn't be with. "It hides all the teeth, my dear," could mean he has a charming smile to disarm and seduce the girl. "What's behind them...." could mean the true "wolf" is behind that smile.

    So glad you could stay
    Forever

Pretty obvious, the girl is now his forever.

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
    There's blood on the blade
    Don't take his hand

He is sneaking around as a bad man. "There's blood on the blade" could mean that there is virginal blood on his dick from past rapings. A blade is a phallic symbol after all, with how it looks, and what it does (penetrates things) "Don't take his hand" AKA, dont go with him.

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
    He's creeping too..

The first line may be, you feel safe where you are (house, by a fire, with a friend) at the worlds end. The second line may mean that even though you think that all is out there in the dark are shadows, "He's creeping too..." (he will find you).

This is either spot on, or I read way too into this. I love this song, it is creepy, has a good beat, an excellent music video, and has great guitar work.
