Lyrics for 7 Minutes In Heaven (Atavan Halen) as interpreted by BrandNew1208

7 Minutes In Heaven (Atavan Halen) Lyrics
I'm sleeping my way out of this one
With anyone who will lie down
I'll be stuck fixated on one star
When the world is crashing down

I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type
But you've got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type

I知 sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
Cause I don't do too well on my own
I知 sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
Cause I don't do too well on my own

The only thing worse than not knowing
Is you thinking that I don't know
I'm having another episode
I just need a stronger dose

I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type
But you've got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type

I知 sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
Cause I don't do too well on my own
I知 sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
Cause I don't do too well on my own

I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type
But you've got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type

I知 sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
Cause I don't do too well on my own

Oh! And also, adamdouglasking , I think your right. If 'halen' is Dutch for 'to get', then it makes sense. It would be like 7 Minutes In Heaven to get some Atavan.

patrick and brendon urie (from panic! at the disco) in the song. patrick sings the first i'm sitting out dances on the wall trying to forget everything that isn;t you.. and so on then it goes around a second time and that is brendon singing.
i jsut thought i'd point that out.

ok i have the feeling that this song isnt guy girl junk like abunch of people think. i agree with LCainer and teh other popele who think that its boout the depressiaon med/sucide/thing. i think teh title seven minutes in hevan may refer to the time that pete passed out when he overdosed. i have afeeling that its not just a coincidence that this song comes directaly after "ive got a dark alley...." which is totaly about the sucide attempt. i dunno but thats just my two cents worth

To me........Atavan halen means 'That a Van Halen'. It's a bit strange, but when I do something good my parents go 'That a girl, Deanna'. I don't know if any one agrees with me.......:S

Though the pills 'Atavan' seems a better philosophy, where did they get the 'Halen' from? ? ?

I love this song. Before I say what I think it means, I'd like to say that it really bugs me that whenever I come on here and read the comments people make, there are always loads of bitchy ones. Why can't people just leave a nice comment and not name names and try to make other people look stupid? So, I think it's no way a song about a boy and a girl. I think it's about generally the sruggles in life, and battling with depression etc. Ya know, they refer to pills alot like in "Sophomore slump or comeback of the year" there is the line, "i need to take a pill to make this town feel ok" or something like that anyway. So they defo like talking about the affects that drugs, especailly medicational ones have on people. I know that suffering from depression can maim your life, as it has done to me, so I think Pete has a right to have a rant every now and then. Maybe he finds it hard to talk to people so he writes songs to express himself. Whoa! I wrote a little novel there. Well, I'm outa here so love ya!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxx

Well umm I'd say this is pretty straightfroward song. He's obsessed with some girl and loves thinking about and wants her but then again he wants her out of his mind...well i might be way off and someone might've said this already but umm i nveer read everyone's comments:S

i agree with FOB tara. basically this song describes my life (kinda). i met a great guy (who is now my bf)and he came to visit one of his friends for a month. but he lives in a different state and he's leaving tomorrow. and i dont know what to do cuz no matter what i cant stop thinking about him. my life is slowly breaking down...can someone give me sympathy?

if you REALLY listen and think about other meanings, it's simple. Atavan isn't a depression medicine. it's medicine taken for panic attacks. the song is about pete's panic attacks. and when you think about it that way, all the words take on a whole new meaning. and yes. it is brendon from Panic! on the second chorus. he makes my knees buckle!!! lol!

Brendon Urie is in this song.
Yep. Right before the chorus, he does the second set of 'I keep telling myself I'm not the desparate type'. Listen. It's him.

below, someone said about ''atavan halen'' being the medicine pete almost overdosed on/got addicted to.

i think the whole song focuses on this -

''i keep telling myself, i'm not the desperate type''
(trying to convince himself he doesn't need it)

''i'm not going home alone, 'cause i don't do too well on my own''
(either - he doesn't want to face his addiction on his own ..
or - he turns to his addiction so he won't be alone)

''i just need a stronger dose''
(giving in to his addiction)

''trying to forget everything that isn't you''
(he knows it's bad but he just can't forget it ..
kind of like being in love or something)

anyway, just some ideas
probably a load of crap
haha

the part

"I keep telling my self i'm not the desperate type..."

makes me think of this relationship i was in, and how i really really wanted this girl, and depsite me knowing and having faith in myself that i could do better, i still just wanted her so bad

This song is about a guy who is feeling desperate enough that he would date, or have sex with anyone. Hence the lyric, "I'm sleeping my way out of this one, with anyone who'll lie down."
"I'll be stuck fixated on one star, when the world is crashing down." means that one girl is all he'll focus on, no matter what, until he gets her.
"I keep telling myself, I keep telling myself, I'm not the desperate type, but you've got me looking in through blinds." means that he's very desperate.
"Sitting out dances on the wall, trying to forget everything that isn't you. I'm not going home alone 'cause I don't do too well on my own" - This means that he can't quit thinking about one girl. So much that he can't even dance, or party. And his mind is set on getting this girl, because he's not going home alone.

The song is about drugs people. If any of you were true fallout boy fans you would know that pete had a drug overdose and right afterwards he wrote this song to express himself, so all your theories about relationships and girls and stuff arent wrong, but in light of what pete himself said the song seems to talk about his overdose.
