I won't suffer, be broken
Get tired or wasted
Surrender to nothing
Or give up what I started
And stop this
From end to beginning
A new day is coming
And I am finally free

[Chorus]
Run away, run away
I'll attack
Run away, run away
Go change yourself
Run away, run away
I'll attack, I'll attack, I'll attack

I would've kept you forever
But we had to sever
It ended for both of us
Faster than a,
Kill off this thinking
It's starting to sink in
I'm losing control now
Without you I can finally see.

[Chorus]

Your promises
They look like lies
Your honesty
Like a back that hides a knife
I promise you
I promise you
I am finally free

[Chorus]

Song Comparison:To me this sounds like someone breaking away from a religion. But maybe that's just me.

General Comment:To me, this is about being left by the one you love.

It feels like the song is being sung directly to the person that left. It displays strength and freedom. But actually it's all a front, and the singer is using the tough words to cover up how broken they really feel.

The lines "I promise you - I'm finally free" sound especially like the singer is trying to convince himself.

General Comment:this song has 0 to do with a drug addiction haha. its completely about a relationship that the wrietr both hates and loves. "i wouldve kept you forever but we had to sever" shows how much the singer loved her, but the line "i am finally free" shows how much he wanted to get away from it. He also clearly states in the first line that he wont resort to "feel good things" such as drugs to cope with the break up. He also wont let it torture him. "i wont suffer" he also states that he was unfairly treated in the relationship. maybe cheated on.

General Comment:One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands! A lot of 30STM songs are about personal freedom, and this is no different. It's about letting go of someone (an ex, a friend, etc.) who's been holding you back and now you're free to live life as you please. I was sure about the chorus (Run away, run away/I'll attack/Run away, run away/Go change yourself) for a while, cuz I didn't see how attacking someone related to the rest of the song. But I think he (Jared) means that if anyone tries to hold him back again he won't take it and tell 'em they're the ones who need to change, not him. Really optomistic, feel-good song, in my opinion.

General Comment:I think this song is about a relationship in which he and the woman were drug users together. He wanted to get clean, but she was holding him back and had to leave her. The words flashing across the screen in the video also hint at cultism.
