There's a little girl who says bing bing bomb
There's a little girl who says bing bing bomb
hello
oh, oh

There's a little boy with a spider in his hand
There's a little boy with a spider in his hand
hello
oh, oh

There's a little girl with the red shoes on
There's a little girl with the red shoes on
hello
oh, oh

There's a little boy with twenty five cents
There's a little boy with twenty five cents
hello
oh, oh

And there's a little girl with a tiger on her bed
There's a little girl with a tiger on her bed
hello
oh, oh

There's a little boy with nothin' on his mind
There's a little boy with nothin' on his mind
hello

My Opinion:Jack White talked about taking music and stripping it down to it's most basic form and while doing so I believe he's also looking at it strangely like a learning child. He's making it very simple for anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar to play some cool riffs. He's saying that things aren't as complex as they seem and can be very very simple. If you listen to his songs you'll hear many other bands influence, AC/DC and Deep Purple and ZZ Topp and Nirvina and even Pink Floyd, some which are barely recognizable but the influence is clearly there. Mixed with old style blues and in his own voice it comes off like little boy blues, which I believe was his aim. You can see he wanted to create a family in introducing himself and Meg as brother and sister and often refers to his fans like they're children. You can't look that deep into what he's saying though because I think he's more concerned about the guitar sound. People know Jack's eccentric and it seems like he's just having fun with what he's doing and is keeping things very simple.

General Comment:The whole concept behind the Stripes is that they're "children" The first album, being very primitive, is very childlike in nature, and take "white blood cells" and "elephant" which sound more adolescant in tone.

But my point, imagine in this song that Jack is say, 3 or 4 years old singing this song, and it might make a little more sense to you.

General Comment:I have this feeling that this song is about child abuse. I'm probably completely wrong but I think the "tiger" on the girl's bed is a sexual predator maybe. And I think the little boy with nothing on his mind has nothing on his mind because he's dead. I'm not sure about the other lines though.

General Comment:i like this song. everytime i listen to it, i feel its like someone passing by in a car and just admiring or plain looking through the window and finding beauty in little things such as a girl with red shoes, and simple things like that.
nobody ever pays attention to that... lovely images that pass you by and goes unnoticed.

General Comment:wtf? about buttoning a jacket? do you talk about "The Hardest Button To Button"? that song, of course, is NOT about buttoning a jacket...

General Comment:Does it matter? It seems like the "little" songs take a simple idea and they make a song out of it, but make it feel like it has alot of meaning. I like this song. >_>

General Comment:Really? I quite like this song, in fact I like all the "little" songs. WHich begs the question, why does every album have a song called "little *insert word*"? Has Jack or Meg ever explained why, or has no-one cared to ask them?
