This song was written by Johnny Greenwood, performed by the London Sinfonietta and was sung by Thom Yorke for the South Bank Ether Festival. There are a few recordings of Arpeggi around the internet - I found a link on http://www.ateaseweb.com so look there for this.

Just a couple of things about the above lyrics - it's "phantoms" as opposed to "fantasies" (see half-way through) and the penultimate section ("in the bottom of...we fishies") should read:

"Eaten by the worms

Rdec, thanks for the update. I edited your lyrics by taking out "the" in "eaten by the worms." It doesn't sound like he actually says "the" :)

this song is going to be on the next album, i read that on atease.com
its awesome though, the lyrics sound good to me, i think the next radiohead album is going to be the best album ever

The lyrics are great, but the backing music just doesnt seem that good. At least theyve got a good long while to work on it before the next album.

the musice is a bit like modern classical composers such as steve reich or philip glass but i'm sure by the time it gets on the album (let's hope so!) it will as with so many of their songs sound very different. from what we've heard so far i agree that it could be an awesome album

wonderful clarity in blur deeps..lead by your expectations you follow without mentioning until you reach the edge.there is something,fishing.everbody has left,even your expectations and you are alone,an anxious fishie in the deep sea,you rather hit the bottom than being picked up by a fishing rod.one way or another,you`ll die.beautifully sad.

Very, incredibly relaxing. Makes me feel like some noxious gas has flooded the room and I'm floating away. They should call this song "headache treatment" 'cuz that's what it is.

Thom sings here about following someone and finally leaving with him and he describes it beatifully. I think i know what he means, but i aint gonna tell you that.This is incredibly relaxing like somebody said on 12-18-2005 12:19:24PM. Radiohead has the ability to make a beatiful song with any style they like. Think about it! How many beatiful arpeggi songs have heard before! I havent heard none, before this one. Excuse my english, by the way. Im finnish?

this is so amazingly beautiful song. the music is absolutely perfect and thom sings it so beautifully. i see the lyrics as another romanticised view of suicide and suicide&love.

it sounds like an unrealistic hope for salvation after a broken relationship, begging for and dreaming of a perfect place while getting tugged back into reality. the water imagery is apt- the music sounds like it immerses you...

I've been listening to this song on repeat, and i just can't get enough...even with the rough production values from the mp3s available you get an undeniable sense of what it will become. The immense sound of this song is staggering.

It is a love song. It is about a man who is feeling like he has nothing to live for, and he suddenly finds someone who 'turns him'... who wants to live again because he has found a new reason to carry on. He also says he will follow her wherever she goes, even if it meant he would die. It is the ultimate love song. He is also saying that has been plagued by the worm that eats at him from the inside out, because he had almost lost the hope of finding someone to be with.

Oh, and it's 'i get eaten by the worms and weird fishes', not 'we're fishees', though that's cuter.

Life is confusing, and our troubles and worries weigh heavy on us (in the deepest ocean...). We search for a desire or an obsession, a "worm" on a "hook", so often in the form of love (your eyes, they turn me) that will allow us to escape the bottom of the deep. Escape, though, is our own self-anihilation...I see this song as a modern "to be or not to be"...fantastic.
