Lyrics for Lyla as interpreted by ScatScat

Lyla Lyrics
Calling on the stars to fall
And catch the silver sunlight in your hands
Come for me and set me free
Lift me up and take me where I stand

She believes in everything
In everyone and you and yours and mine
I waited for a thousand years
For you to come and blow me out my mind

Heyyyyy Lyla
The star’s about to fall -
So what you sayyyy Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so …
Smallll Lyla
If you can hear me call and I can …
Sayyyy Lyla
Heaven can I help you catch me if I … fall

She’s the queen of all I’ve seen
And every song and city far and near
Heaven held my memories still
She ring the bell for all the world to hear

Heyyyyy Lyla
The star’s about to fall -
So what you sayyyy Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so …
Smallll Lyla
If you can hear me call and then I can …
Sayyyy Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I … fall

Heyyyyy Lyla
The star’s about to fall -
So what you sayyyy Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so …
Smallll Lyla
But you can hear me call and I can …
Sayyyy Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I … fall

This song is saying that Noel, Liam, Bonehead & the rest are just regular people with regular lives. And that oasis is coming close to a end (certainly hope not).

Sure, this isn't another 'Wonderwall' or 'Live Forever', but regardless, and even though it did take time to grow on me, it is a top song! Highly recommend listening to it turned up loud! Necessary to fully appreciate it i think...

actually they said at least 'she' tries, i'm aware that theres a jojo looks like a boy rumour going around, but i don't subscribe. My point is 'spiritofthestreet' you've already embarassed yourself on this forum, don't do it again. Criticising noel is always pointless.

This song just reminds me of how good Oasis used to be and how much they suck now.

they may rhyme but they don't make sense, read the masterplan or little by little for amazing lyrics

no you are arguing because on one by u2 i state that noel's the best lyricist ever. My implication earlier on this thread was that he was one of the best lyricists of all time i.e. you wouldn't be able to beat him by just quickly typing a little nonsense rhyme.

i was only calling you stupid if you thought those lyrics were better than 'the masterplan'

chocolate can u name one song where oasis actually experiment with something a bit different? Some songs are good, granted, but oasis themselves are nothing but a bunch of arrogant shitheads who are so far up their own arses its untrue. These lyrics hardly differ from any of their other songs in terms of content.

Spirit of the street i highly recommend you buy 'the masterplan' album. Its a collection of their very best b-sides, every song is completely different with a brilliant mixture of slow, fast, pop, hardcore, punk, instrumentals and finally the almost music hall-like 'the masterplan'. The heathen chemistry album sounds totally different and much more folksy than anything else they'd done. Even if they don't experiment as much as radiohead, i personally don't care, music;s all about the tunes and if they're better than almost anyone else on the planet at the moment except the rhcp then thats good enough for me.

Look i'm not trying to disagree with you about Oasis being a "good band". I have heard the masterplan and i enjoyed it. I just feel that now they are producing more of the same. I still stand by what i said about their arrogance though. For oasis to claim they are better than the Beatles is absurd.

see my post on wonderwall. Only liam ever claimed that oasis are better than the beatles, and liam's mad.

oasis fans are happy
radiohead fans are unhappy
what a coincidence. could that be because negative lyrics are easier to write?

why exactly is a radiohead fan here discussing this? or maybe the right thing would be wasting peoples time? Is life at the radiohead section too depressing?

I dont recall a quote were they said they were better than the beatles.

From the early demos-dm-sotsog i hear a change in style and music and i have hard time how one could deny that.

A world in which radiohead are these experimental geniuses is a world without bjork, sigurros etc

Is lyla this centuries a day in the life or across the universe? no but its a fine rock/pop song and i see no proplem with that
