Everything that you are,
That you'd like to be
Will come in three, my friend

Times thine inequity
The flutes of the chi
Will sound again, my friend

Wrap yourself up in gold,
The fruits of the old,
Are ripe to be told, my friend

For, it's not what you are,
How you've come to be
All this will will end and begin again

Everything that you are,
That you'd like to be
Will come in three, my friend

Times thine inequity,
The flutes of the chi
Will sound again, my friend

This song is like a George Harrison song (beatles). Eastern spiritual optimism and the general positive vibe...

Old old Ween tune. This song was available for a long time on the internet in Demo form before it finally made an appearance on an album. A good version to get is the Rutgers College Live Show they did back in 1994. I believe it can still be tracked down. For a long time this song was an unreleased fan fave. Thank goodness the boys finally put it out, unlike alot of their other really good stuff.

What an amazing song! I love it. White Pepper is such a good album, I hate that it's so often overlooked.

I think it's inspired by David Carradine's old Tai-Chi videos he used to hawk back in the 90's...

I'm still discovering all of Ween's hidden gems and this one qualifies for me. It's right next to Transdermal Celebration and Tried and True for me. It's so euphoric and positive.

I'd argue this is the most Beatle-esque song on White Pepper. Very reminiscent of Magical Mystery Tour/Yellow Submarine.

Mickey and I were renting a house in New Hope and I started learning about Feng Shiu. I hung 2 flutes on the ceiling for improved chi.

    Song Meaning

For some reason I think this song is about mental depression. Seeing that everything is going to repeat itself so there's no point in even trying in life...maybe im thinking way to hard on the subject..

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Cajun Girl

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
