where I come from isn\'t all that great
my automobile is a piece of crap
my fashion sense is a little wack
and my friends are just as screwy as me
I didn\'t go to boarding schools
preppie girls never looked at me
why should they?
I ain\'t nobody
got nothin\' in my pocket

beverly hills
that\'s where I wanna be
(gimme gimme, gimme gimme)
living in beverly hills
beverly hills
rollin\' like a celebrity
(gimme gimme, gimme gimme)
living in beverly hills

look at all those movie stars
they\'re all so beautiful and clean
when their housemaids scrub the floors
they get the spaces in between
I wanna live a life like that
I wanna be just like a king
take my picture by the pool
cuz I\'m the next big thing

beverly hills
that\'s where I wanna be
(gimme gimme, gimme gimme)
living in beverly hills
beverly hills
rollin\' like a celebrity
(gimme gimme, gimme gimme)
living in beverly hills

the truth is I don\'t stand a chance
it\'s somethin\' that you\'re born into
and I just dont belong
no I don\'t
I\'m just a no class beat down fool
and I will always be that way
I might as well enjoy my life
and watch the stars play

beverly hills
that\'s where I wanna be
(gimme gimme, gimme gimme)
living in beverly hills
beverly hills
rollin\' like a celebrity
(gimme gimme, gimme gimme)
living in beverly hills

General Comment:Beverly Hills is a song about not forgetting where you come from. Even though Rivers is famous now (living in Beverly Hills), he knows he wasn't always rich. This song is saying Rivers knows who's a real friend and who's a "preppy girl" that never looked at him because his "pockets were empty". Get it? When he says he doesn't belong in Beverly Hills (no class, beat-down fool), he's being sarcastic. Insulting himself when he's actually insulting the self-absorbed people in BH. To conclude: the opposite of a sellout song, a song about staying real no matter how much fame you have.

General Comment:this song isn't a "boohoo i'm not famous" song and it's certainly not a putdown to anyone wanting to make it in hollywood

this song's also not the best weezer song, but it's definitely not the worst

but it's about beverly hills, beverly hills is where stuck up douchebags live. we've a all wanted to be there, be rich, famous. but not to many people want to live that lifestyle, rivers is just saying he can't be that way, he's not that way. but he probably thinks he wants it sometimes

it's not to outrageous to write a song about a common feeling, i think you're all just taking weezer's change (for the better or worse) way tooo personal

Memory:After Katrina living in Florida, me and my friends singing this song all the time. You weird Pinkerton freaks (not all of you though, some are alright) might not like this but this song was there at a difficult (well, not so much difficult as strange and out of place) time and it always made me happy whenever it came on, I still can't listen to this song without smiling. I have tried (don't ask) but it didn't work. Weezer is awesome. =W=

General Comment:Not a great song at all! Annoying and it's a dream smasher kind of song too for those who want to be actors or musicians and here this band is over saying they shouldn't do it and should take on the simple life. Plus I hate that it contradicts itself 'oh i wanna do this' 'no wait, i changed my mind.'

General Comment:I love Weezer, but this song is so weak. I really can't stand to listen to it, I mean if it's on, ok, but seriously? Not going to say, "Wow guys, let's play Beverly Hills." You know someone isn't a Weezer fan if they say THIS is their favorite tune.

General Comment:its a piece of crap song. its basically weezer's sellout song. everyone who says that this is the best song weezer ever did is a freaking poser. the album Make Believe is not the weezer i've come to know and love.
