Saturday morning and it's time to go
One day these could be the days but who could have known
Loading in the back of a pickup truck
Riding with the boys and pushing the luck
Singing songs loud on the way to the game
Wishing all the things could still be the same
Chinese homeruns over the backstop
Kakua on the ball and soda pop well...

We used to laugh a lot
But only because we thought
That everything good always would remain
Nothing's gonna change there's no need to complain

Sunday morning and it's time to go
Been raining all night so everybody knows
Over to the field for tackle football
Big hits, big hats, yeah give me the ball
Rain is pouring, touchdown scoring
Keep on rolling, never boring
Karma, karma, karma chameleon
We're talking kinda funny from helium

We used to laugh a lot
But only because we thought
That everything good always would remain
Nothing's gonna change there's no need to complain

Monday morning and it's time to go
Wet trunks and schoolbooks and sand on my toes
Do anything you can to dodge the bus-stop blues
Like driving a padiddle with a burnt-out fuse
My best friend Kimi wants to go with you
So meet her by the sugar mill after school
My best friend Kimi wants to go with you
Meet her by the sugar mill after school

We used to laugh a lot
But only because we thought
That everything good always would remain
We used to laugh a lot
But only because we thought
That everything good always would
Everything good always would remain

General Comment:this song is like the definition of happiness! but then again, 'we used to laugh a lot' is kind of sad - they don't laugh anymore? 'my best friend kimi' - that's JJ's wife

General Comment:Maurice E. "Moe" Lerner was the owner of the Haleiwa Joe's Restaurant in Jack's home town in Hawaii. He was close to the Johnson family, and a great guy. He passed away in July 2000.

General Comment:this song reflects the final few years of high school for me, we used to laugh a lot but only bc we thought that everythin good would remain, when it came time for all of us to leave, we couldnt believe it was over, also ew played tackle football religiously

General Comment:this song may be about a death of someone(moe lerner) not even a death...just something going wrong...whenn it says we used to laugh alot but only because we thought that everything good always would remain...it gives off the impression that times have changed since the days of them all playing mud football...just a guess?

General Comment:People think in diferent ways and with me when i generally think things seem to come to me with pictures. For example when i think of individual songs instead of attaching some text of what the song is about or sounds i attach a piece of imagery. For Mudffotball when i think about it i just see the sugar mill and for me it sums up the whole song. However, it means more than just that. It represents being happy and reflecting. For that reason is it my favourite song along with horizon has been defeated.

General Comment:I love this song partly because I am a huge football fan, and partly because I love the tune. It is so upbeat and happy.
