I just saw FOB at warped tour in Barrie yesterday. They were actually so amazing. I was right against the barrier when they played this song. It was so amazing, everyone was singing along to all of their songs. I definitly reccommend going to see them live.

im guessin nobody has played it backwards...cuz dance dance is sex sex backwards i listened 2 the demo version backwords and its really weird all i could make out were lk dance dance sounded exactly like sex sex and somthin about screamin and sidewalks..idk its weird

I think this song is about a groupie that one of the band memebers got attached too. It shows it in a few of the first few sets of lines:

She says shes no good
With words but im worse

....here hes talking about how shes trying to break it off with him but shes telling him she doesnt know how to say it, and hes worse with words because he doesnt know what to say. He's blow away by her doing this to him, he didnt expect it.

Alright, before we even knew the right lyrics for this song, me and my friend were having a discussion, cause we're music/lyric nerds. Here we go...

"I'm two quarters and a heart down..."

Okay this part was a bit confusing for us at first. Originally we thought it was "I'm two quarters and a half note" to go with the "we're falling apart to half time" or musical metaphor theme, which if you think about it, could actually work. But to interpret this whole part, it's kind of like the guy is pumping quarters into a jukebox listening to songs that remind him of the girl *I'm just going to continue she so xx emo's storyline cause it works* because “I don’t want to forget how your voice sounds”. When she broke up with him, he couldn’t say anything “joke of a romantic stuck to my tongue” so all he can do is write this song to say how he feels.

An amazing bridge, lyrically and musically. Now this part is either as complex as you want it to be or as simple as you want it to be. You could just think, “well he just wants to have sex with her again” or you could actually pay attention to the lyrics and get what I got out of it. Alright she broke up with him to go to someone else, or she had found someone new before she even broke up with him. He’s sick of her always lying to him/never telling him anything, and just wants to hear the straight truth from her. “Why don’t you show me a little bit of spine” says he just wants her to have the courage to say what he probably found out from someone else to his face. And he doesn’t want her petty apologies anymore, he just wants her back “I only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into bed with me.”

Alright one of my first deep interpretations...how’d I do?

i think this song means that their relationship is suffering, and he doesnt want them to be over yet. and he wants things to go back to how they used to be, when everything was carefree, ))dance, dance, we're falling apart, to half time, dance dance, these are the lives you love to lead(( he wants things to be good again, so he pretends.

this is my favorite song on the album. i like the fast pace and the sort of imploring/pleading style of the lyrics. im not really sure wat the song is about but its like hes trying to get someone to understand him and how it is to feel the way he does but at the same time he doesnt want sympathy (unless its in the form of sex.)---great song!!

this song is all about the pressures of writing a hit single. "she says she no good with words, BUT IM worse"--he cant find the right words. "weighed down with words too, over dramatic"--all the words he can use that are over used.
"dance, dance"--you all dance, all of the fans, and not worry about anyhthing.
"were falling apart to half time"--while the band is trying so hard to make great songs before their time is up
"dance, dance...and these are the lies you love to lead"--all the fans love the songs no matter what lies are told in them
"dance, this is the way they'd (the fans) love, if they knew how misery loved me"--all the fans have no idea how hard it is to come up with these songs.
"why dont you show me a little bit of spine youve been saving for his matress"--he is talking to himself. he wants a spine (guts, backbone, etc) to write hits.
"i only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into be with me"--talking to the "hits".

GREAT song. i dont think it should have been theyre second single, but still a good song.

It's going to premire (don't think i spelled that right,lol) Tuesday October 11th on TRL. I always wondered what they were whispering right before the chorus...it's really to make out tho. I love Dance, danc eone of my favorite songs off of FUCT.

Isn't FOB pop/punk for a reason? And isn't pop/punk supposed to be catchy? Well, that's what this song is, no matter what it means. Maybe it only has meaning to them.

not really people are just really annoying me by saying that over, and over, and over...

I like upbeat songs, so I don't mind this song, although now everyone is like "I love dance, dance by the Boys who Fall...or something like that, haha!" sucks.

My interpritations: About love, it seems like all bands nowdays are singing about love, weird.

Really good song and an awesome song to play at prom...can't wait till we have it in april. I gotta put this song on the playlist fo sho.

I love the drums in this song too and the bassline is awesomely cool, don't hear enough of those now a days.

Yeah but If you ever wanna make up a dance, this is the perfect song to make it up to. I made one up and I'm going to perform it in our talent show! So {ex}*CITED* I hope i win and if i do it will be all thanks to FOB!

Apparently Pete whispers different things in that particular part where people think he.. well.. whispers.
"I love Joe Trohman" was one of them Pete said live, I think. But one the record some people think he says " Where going down to B minor", "I miss you so bad".
That's as far as my knowledge extends to about the whisper part.

i heard this song on the radio today....i was freaking out because they never play anything good. They play "Sugar we're goin down" alot and it gets annoying but now at least ppl will know there is more to them, not only one good song or anything. it rocked...best part of my day!
