TV on the Radio is the only band I can think of that could pull off a Pixies cover. I like it a lot.

The best covers are the ones that don't try to just do the same thing as the original, but make it their own. To transcend is probably the ultimate goal of a cover song. TVOTR didn't transcend the original, I don't think, but they definitely made it their own.

One thing is for sure: Pixies couldn't do it like TVOTR just like TVOTR couldn't do it like Pixies.

This is one of my favorite band's best songs. That guitar riff (the one that sounds like the "la la la la")
is undefeated. Oh, and everyone needs to shut the fuck up about the stupid cover.
