    General Comment:ok so heres the thing....your very right about jack the ripper the song has to mainly do with him. however the music video is "evil dead" with bruce campbell if you have ever seen evil dead you would know.

    General Comment:honestly i think its about jack the ripper and i know this'll sound weird but freddy krueger the ledgend of the sandman is that he comes to help u sleep well in my oppinion a "blood red sandman" is someone who kills u while ur sleeping thus the conclusion freddy krueger not to mention the line about "can you hear how the children weep?" freddy was a child killer

    General Comment:Jack the Ripper is a good guess, but personally I think it's about Freddy Krueger.

    Reason I think so is because sandmen bring sleep and dreams, right? Freddy Krueger kills his victems in their dreams, like a blood red sandman.

    Second reason is the part about the children weeping, Freddy Krueger, before he was killed, was a child molester. Now whenever he is in his victem's dreams, the children sing that creepy song about him.

    Last reason is that Freddy can do anything in the dream world, like bringing flames or cold.

    General Comment:In my opinion the song is referred to Jack the Ripper. But as you know he is dead. Now is Lordi the new Jack but as the Blood Red Sandman by assaulting when the people sleep.

    Look at the lyrics and imagine Lordi as i described him as Jack+Sandman :)

    General Comment:to lovesis8. well, it was popular enough to make it over here to the US. so why not Finland? but yeah, i agree with the whole Jack The Ripper thing. i also have half a mind to say Freddy Kreugar. but thats just because you know, he is kind of a blood red sandman. hes dead, burnt with skin a reddish tint. the whole fire thing, he was killed by fire. and children weeping, he killed kids/teenagers. and the whole killing you in your sleep thing. but i'm more leaning towards the Jack The Ripper scenario

    The jack the ripper stuff makes sense.

    Part of me reckons its meant to be an evil creature that we see in the music video. But on every lyric site (except this one) part of the lyrics were in speech marks (for example the whole of the first verse was, but only the first two lines of the second verse were, i think). So i think maybe it could have been linked to jack the ripper.

    But is the whole Jack The Ripper thing so popular that it got all the way to Finland? That might be a stupid thing to have said but im just curious.

    General Comment:I also agree with Jack the Ripper being the subject for the song. This was my first impression. But the thing to think about are the remaining seemingly random lines. "Can you hear the children weep" and even "Blood Red Sandman". I take the song as being about the evil entity that took Jack over. The evil calls itself the Blood Red Sandman. That's why he comes back, and why the video isn't about Jack, but a similar, fictional killer.

    Then again, I may just have too much time on my hands!
