I can't get through
Knots in my mind
I resent
The self I can't find
I can't get through
A paper and a pencil
Are the best friends I've got
I went to downtown L.A.
Got picked up by the cops
Didn't get what i wanted
But I didn't care a lot
I saw that life was kidding
Look on
I'm warning you
I skipped a life
To be here
I've got no right
I'm bad luck
I used to feel a lot
Things used to be alright
So much was going on
I'm empty now inside
When i thought life was terrible
Things were going fine
Vincent called as a set up
Look on
It's not right
I lost my fame
It's a cheap trick
I wanna do it again
I've got no life
I am a seperate entity
From the guy I was before
Here nobody wants me
I hoped for something more
I flip through empty pages
That I thought I wrote on
I can't tell what is dreaming
Look on
Knots in my mind
I resent
The self I can't find
I can't get through
A paper and a pencil
Are the best friends I've got
I went to downtown L.A.
Got picked up by the cops
Didn't get what i wanted
But I didn't care a lot
I saw that life was kidding
Look on
I'm warning you
I skipped a life
To be here
I've got no right
I'm bad luck
I used to feel a lot
Things used to be alright
So much was going on
I'm empty now inside
When i thought life was terrible
Things were going fine
Vincent called as a set up
Look on
It's not right
I lost my fame
It's a cheap trick
I wanna do it again
I've got no life
I am a seperate entity
From the guy I was before
Here nobody wants me
I hoped for something more
I flip through empty pages
That I thought I wrote on
I can't tell what is dreaming
Look on

When the guitar changes around, 'It's not right / I lost my fame,' gah. It gets me everytime. It's so beautiful I love it. Probably my favorite John Fru song next to Wednesday's Song
Got picked up by the cops
Didn't get what i wanted
But I didn't care a thought"
instead of
"I went to downtown L.A.
Got picked up by the cops
Didn't get what i wanted
But I didn't care a lot."
Although it's a minor lyrics change - with regards to us interested in the possible meaning of this song - it can make a significant difference.
i seen some other vincents it might be but im pretty sure its gallo.
hehe it would be funny if it was some weird guy he met in the streets sorry im a wee bit crazy today.
FruscianteFan - I don't even know who Vincent Gallo is, but I'm going to look him up now.
just look at your innerself (or as i think the parrallel universe has all the answers to this world)
if we look on to the end of the world (as if anyone thinks deep down to that now) how can we look on at that.
so i think it might have somthing to do with looking on untill we know our troubles have been seen to by either the spirits we live wiith or by realising the spirits we know know
I think the title speaks for itself. Whatever happens, especially things you don't want or expect - like getting picked up by the cops, when you're empty inside, when you're set up, when you can't tell what is dreaming - look past it. When you're negatively caught up in the present - look on to the future.
If this is right, I guess the next question challenging this would be what happens when you "look on" and only see a bleak future?
I'm not sure if I'm making much sense - either way this song is awesome. The guitar is great.
