    My Interpretation:How About this Idea:

    Everyone is free to be able to choose their own perceptions of the world around them, any color they like. We all take in information and see the things we see subjectively creating our own interpretations. If we take in all of these interpretations and perceptions and are open to the vast colors around us, then we are free not only from the world, but from ourselves. Never has an instrumental song created such a strong and empowering message. And never has a song opened up our minds as much as this song. We all know of our five senses, but we all have a sixth. Most people don’t have the strength of their sixth sense as much as others. Like the light going through the top of the prism, out comes six colors, the six senses. Listen to this song loudly and concentrate. Does it make you feel different? Are the surroundings around you different? Music has been fascinated with this idea for ever now and I can’t understand how the masses are missing it and missing out. Be one with the world, we all have to find our place ourselves on our journey that is life. What is the reason you are here? We shouldn’t focus as much about what political system is right, what religion is right, but what do we feel is right and how are we going to go about every day to be a human being on course to our purpose? Love yourself and the world. Empower yourself. Be like the kids in Midnight City. And soon you will be saying to yourself, hurry up world because we are dreaming. Dreaming of a new future, one that is hopefully better than the past.

    General Comment:i think the whole thing translates to the real lack of choices one really has. this always reminds me of the henry ford quote, "you can have it in any color you like, as long as it's black", referring to the model T

    My Interpretation:What a wonderful and soothing instrumental.

    In my opinion, the title and the song go hand in hand. The song is telling it like it is - you can choose to color your perception of the world around you (and including yourself) or choose and have the will power to be open-minded and choose any colour you'd like. Every individual views things subjectively, colored by their own unique perception and interpretation. Being open to the vast amount of colours (metaphorically, everyone's unique colored perception) there are, you have then and suddenly freed yourself from the world around you (and their illusion-like binds and regulations) as well as yourself.

    General Comment:If you people knew the concept of the album you'd understand. Every song is one of the obstacles man faces in life. The problems that eclipse the sun. Easy rundown.

    Speak To Me/Breathe = Life ( More so the consequences of rushing life, not appreciating it. )
    On The Run = Expediency
    Time = Time
    The Great Gig In The Sky = Death
    Money = Money
    Us And Them = War
    Any Colour You Like = Drugs
    Brain Damage = Lunacy
    Eclipse = Climax to ending.

    My Opinion:All the comments I have read so for is that Pink Floyd wrote this song or that song is so we can have something to listen to when we tip out. Come on people the only member of the band that was into heavy drug use was Syd. The rest of the band like alcohol. Read the biography Saucer Full Of Secrets.

    General Comment:I'm going to make a tape of Floyd's best instrumental tracks (which will be tough 'cause they're almost all excellent. I think this one will go after Signs of Life, and lead into Quicksilver...

    General Comment:I think Dark Side of the Moon is somewhat of a concept album about life in general. Breathe is about birth and the increasingly enslaving life which follows it; Time describes how nothing good (ie, youth) ever lasts; The Great Gig in the Sky is religion, Money is greed; Us and Them depicts bigotry and a black-and-white view of the world...and then we come to this song.
    When the Model-T car was released, consumers were told they could buy in any colo(u)r they liked, as long as it was black. Same with this song- we feel like we have so many choices in life, yet many times we really don't. The whole album represents a range of universal experiences that everyone can relate to- no matter who you are, you have undoubtedly experienced every one of the record's topics.
