Lyrics for Climb the Ladder as interpreted by pumkinhed

Climb the Ladder Lyrics
When I'm caught in a net
And I haven't a clue
All I've got to do is climb the ladder to you
Climb the ladder

When there are ghosts in my coat
And everything is askew
All I've got to do is climb the ladder to you
Climb the ladder to you

All of these faces are crowding around me
With mouths open wide to devour
But they have no impact, no, I do not cower
Knowing I'm safe in your tower

When my pencil tip's broken
And my brain is too
All I've got to do is climb the ladder to you
Climb the ladder

When I feel like an oar
In a sunken canoe
All I've got to do is climb the ladder to you
Climb the ladder to you

All of these faces are crowding around me
Like grey paint caked on a flower
But they have no impact, no value, no power
Knowing I'm safe in your tower

sounds kinda like a guy having a bad trip, then finds his girlfriend or something and everything is better

this is a love song. first he is telling her that whenever he is tripping and freaking out that she is his protecting force. later he discusses when he feels uncreative and cant write music he can go to her for insperation. then at the end he basically says, no matter whats wrong im happy with you. just my 2 cents

For me, he speaks about dead girl, who he loved and who is his angel and saving him.
That's why "climbing the ladder" is equal to praying and talking to her in his mind.
