We can talk all night, we can talk all day
We can play charades when there is nothing to say
You turn me on to the idea of growing old

I can make you angry you can make me a smile
We can make origami with the kids for a while
You turn me on to the idea of growing old

Now it won’t be long
No, it won’t be long
You turn me on to the idea of growing old

We can lay around and count the number of times
I've acted foolish and you’ve rolled your eyes
You turn me on to the idea of growing old

You in your kerchief, and me in my cap
We can settle down for an afternoon nap
You turn me on to the idea of growing old

Now it won’t be long
No, it won’t be long
You turn me on to the idea of growing old

this song is about a relationship where the people involved are so in love that they don't mind growing old together, in fact they look forwards to it. It's such a nice song, rather sappy but in a totally forgiveable way.

i had this song in my head all day yesterday and i'm still not sick of it. i love it so much because it's really romantic but not excessively. this song makes me feel optimistic.

This reminds me (lyrically) of "When I'm Sixty-Four" by The Beatles. I love the whole topic of growing old with someone. It's a comfy, relaxed kind of love. A very cute song about how when you really connect with someone, the idea of sharing everything, even the boring details of everyday life, makes you love the idea of getting up there in years with the person.

A nice song about looking forward to the future. Optimistic to the max. :p

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
