Better than most at feeling your pain,
Walking wounded through the stars tonight, we wander the plains,
Pointing pistols at the dawn.

Never looked into your eyes this long, with a dollars worth of distance run,
Courtesy of the broken and holy one.
Your lipstick is thick but Paris is gone,
And I wish this was a crowded room, now the challenge is on,
And I never learned to fly.

Better than most at feeling no pain,
Just as soon as you arrive, we'll start,
I want to explain why I never learned to fly.

Better than most at feeling no pain.
Better then most at feeling your pain.

General Comment:this song is so amazing, the melody is like a virus, it NEVER LEAVES YOUR MIND!
ok, so i think its about trying to be intimate, but finding that its so hard to tell her, that he understands her completely. he knows how she feels, the hurt she recieves he understands cause it hurts ..him. so sweet.

''I want to explain why I never learned to fly''
To tell her that he never loved anyone until her. and why. and so he tells her as he's better than most.
    wow.

General Comment:I love this song. I think it's about a relationship.. vaguely at least. The lyrics seem a lot more coherent than New Pornographers lyrics, which usually have no meaning at all.
