Words are traditional
My life is a mission
Well, maybe not a mission
But more something like a date
I know I can't believe, but I shall see
But I shall see
But I shall see
And I will see

The typewriter ribbon's long
Pounding out another song
Sitting on a chair
Wondering if tomorrow's here
What do I have to fear?
But I shall see
But I shall see
But I shall see
And I will see

Everyone walkin' 'round
Seems to hear a sound today (Today) (Today)
Everyone seems to know
Or is it just that I don't today? (Today) (Today)

Oh, props are another thing
Waiting for the phone to ring
Her picture on my wall
Silhouettes of yesterday
I guess I'll see her anyway, but I shall see
But I shall see
But I shall see
And I will see

Daydreams can be so cruel
And everyone plays the school
Here is another verse
And I'm willing to attest
This one will be my best, but I shall see
But I shall see
But I shall see
And I will see

This was one of Josh's earliest songs, dating from the mid 1980's. It was also among the first he recorded. Somehow the band manages to stay in tempo despite there not being a drum part (Josh didn't have drummer in his band when it was recorded.) Essentially it's about the hope he has about being a musician.
