Never liked the song "Friend of the Devil"
And I've always hated tie-dye shirts
But there she was singing "Friend of the Devil"
In a long-sleeve tie-dye and a Guatemalan skirt

Oh, I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead

She took me to a show, and I entered the time warp
I left it feeling sick
But she bought me a present to help me feel better:
A bumper sticker with dancing bears on it

Oh, I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead

I tried so hard to like at least one song
I thought I was being nice
But here I stand, truly convinced
That Jerry Garcia is the Antichrist

Oh, I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead

We laugh about it now when we're walking hand in hand
I guess we just don't care
But every once in a while I'll bleach her tie-dyes
And sometimes when I'm sleeping she'll bead my hair

Oh, I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey can't stand the Clash
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
I love Janey
But Janey loves the Grateful Dead
