This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
Every day I have to look to the sun
To see where it was that
I have come from
I have a feeling that
There must be a time
When I'll get a chance to go home
'Cause I'm so tired
Of being here alone
But I'm just a traveler in time
Trying so hard to pay for my crime
If I could go back
The same way I got here
And see the people that
I once held so near
I'd do my best to
Find an answer for you
But first I must wait till I'm set free
And I don't know
How long that's gonna be
'Cause I'm a man with
A whole lot on his mind
Just out there somewhere
Traveling in time
Traveling in time
I've tried for so long to find
Some way of helping mankind
To see where it was that
I have come from
I have a feeling that
There must be a time
When I'll get a chance to go home
'Cause I'm so tired
Of being here alone
But I'm just a traveler in time
Trying so hard to pay for my crime
If I could go back
The same way I got here
And see the people that
I once held so near
I'd do my best to
Find an answer for you
But first I must wait till I'm set free
And I don't know
How long that's gonna be
'Cause I'm a man with
A whole lot on his mind
Just out there somewhere
Traveling in time
Traveling in time
I've tried for so long to find
Some way of helping mankind

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
Magical

Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
It sounds like its about The Doctor :)
It's about Sam Tyler, of course - Uriah Heep just didn't realise that when they wrote it...
YES!!! it is (and i hope i dont sound like a nerd but) I LOVE both Live on mars and Dr.who
Diluna25 and Shoelia, I think you're both right! :)
I’m thinking the some is either someone left their lover behind and 20 years later wished they could go back in time. OR A man and woman 25 years apart in age meet and at first glance have a strong soul connection. They know they have met in a different time and want to go back. Hoping they are of similar age to rekindle lost love.
@Farmacist57 Oh but it's much more than that, as a Genius contributor wrote on their website, this is an answer or another refrain to their song on Demons & Wizards named TRAVELER IN TIME, where the writer is traveling through time to help mankind in order to "pay for his crimes."
@Farmacist57 Oh but it's much more than that, as a Genius contributor wrote on their website, this is a man traveling through time trying to help mankind, in order to pay for his crimes, yet what crimes he's committed is anyone's guess.

We're all travelers in time. The meaning of this song is to state that he's just passing his life by, biding his time. Paying for his mistakes (his crime), he's lost all his friends, the loves of his life. And now he just must "wait til he's set free" he has no plans to die so he doesn't know how long that's gonna be, he's just out there somewhere traveling in time. And now tears are falling from my eyes. Good night.
Considering that this was a British band with propensity for sci-fi and fantasy themes in their lyrics and "Demons and Wizards" came out in 1972, I highly suspect this is about the Third Doctor's exile on Earth in early 1970's Doctor Who.
Exiled by his people the Time Lords for interfering in space and time, Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor worked with international organization UNIT in the UK, fighting alien threats and other weirdness. He bitterly lamented his exile and inability to use the TARDIS.
I might be wrong, but I suspect they were watching the BBC and got the idea...
@Bearserker To each his own opinion but I would highly disagree that this is about that when the whole album is centered around Demons and Wizards.
