    General Comment:I've always taken the lyrics symbolically. "I woke up today in London, as the plane was touchin' down."... meaning he woke up with a different perspective on life suddenly, about his torn marriage, and his relationship with another woman. "All I could think about was Monday"... the next time he'd see his mistress that he fell in love with. "understand it's a hard life that I'm going through"... easily spoken, it's a complicated decision between a long marriage, and about his torn emotions between the two relationships. The chorus speaks about when he's broken about life, he thinks about his second love and how she can save him emotionally. When he sings about L.A. and N.Y., he's saying that his emotions are all over the place, and he can't wait to get back home to her arms because of his strong emotions for her. "All these days spent away, I'll make up for this I swear", (singing to the mistress), meaning that he is changing relationships and the 2nd woman is impatient about the divorce.

    The new woman is the guide to his happiness and success.

    General Comment:My husband promises to me everyday that he will make up the time he has missed with our son and I. I love this song as well as Here By Me. They both hit close to home...a little too close.

    General Comment:Tis song kind of makes me sad on occasion. It's talking about how a guy is missing his girlfriend and uses her love for him as a reason to keep going,. even though he's dieing of loneliness. It's really a great song adn the two guy's voice's harmonize amazingly well.

    Makes me cry every time. What a beautiful song... It reminds me of my boyfriend and I. He is in the U.S. Army, so we never get to see each other.

    General Comment:Being on the road, and living so far from home get's to you sometimes. This song reminds me of work and how the hours i work and the time i have to spend away from people i love hurts me.
