    My Interpretation:In the video clip we can see many images of Spanish Republica. The Flag, well entered the song, first appears Spanish flag colors "red and yellow" but later is added the "purple" one, which make the 3 colours of the spanish republic flag.
    There are also images tipical images which are simbols of the spanish republica.
    I might agree with ndoc:
    "I think I could be about fighting (and maybe dying) for what you love and believe in. A call to arms."

    My Interpretation:There's definitely a theme of conquering one's fear of death through fulfilment in life.

    I think there may even be a suggestion of suicide.

    I'm curious to read people interpretations of the line: "Red tears are shed on grey".

    General Comment:Incredible groowe - wow the thundering bass and his haunting voice (it was recorded at Hansa in Berlin, like "Heroes" and U2's "Achtung Baby" - recognize the huge echo). Much of the power of this song derives from the distance between different registers in the music: looow, vibrant bdrums nd bass vs the ringing siren-like synth and the vocals. I remember when this appeared in the mid-eighties, it catches the feeling of being very small in a distant and dangerous world where you can't trust any values or any people.
