i'm not going to talk about the lyrics' meaning as they're fairly self-explanatory and everyone else has covered them well..

i just wanted to say that this song is beautiful..
it's something really simple, something really special beause of this simplicity.. and warmth.

this song... wow... this song and hanging by a moment got me started on lifehouse... a heavy metal drummer listening to lifehouse... who would of thought i had a sensative side... this song turned me into a big softy... and yes as much as i hate to admit it... made me... cry... this song describes the part of me that i never knew perfectly. to me it means that love can just kinda sneak up on you then all of the sudden you dont know what happened and your just mezmorized by that one special someone and when your with them its like there is no other place you would ever want to be... in sickness and in health till death do you part... and in some cases thats a quote... this song is amazing

When i first heard this song i kept playing it over and over and over again. And when you're in love with someone it really moves you. :) Lifehouse is amazing! :D

when i hear this song it gives me chills. it's like when jason wade was writing this song he new me or something. it's that kind of feeling you get when you're having a bad day and you're favorite song comes on the radio. this song just so happens to be that song that has cheered me up so many times. sometimes i still cry when i hear this song even though i've heard it so many times. the most inspirational lyrics of this song is " i don't know why, i can't keep my eyes off of you" . i guess this is my favorite because i can relate to it so much . oh my gosh listen to me i'm rambling. i'm starting to tear up just thinking about his song. this band's song are filled with so much emotion its the kind of music that makes you just want to think.

i better shut up before i drowned in my own puddle of tears. lol. jason wade is an amazing songwriter. when life has me down he can always put me in a good mood. jason wade is literally my "LIFEHOUSE" !!

This is mine and my ex's song!It makes me happy and sad everytime i hear it...
Its about a guy who likes a girl soo much and he cant show his affection to her, but he can pick her out of a big crowd and her smile makes him smile...etc.

Listening to this song this first time...... i'm so bored.........I dont really care what this song means, just got it accidentally from a site and listening to it while talking to this guy, and i feel so bored with all the "you and me", yeah i think i've been losing so much time, nothing to do, nothing to prove :-S It's so funny someday you talk to somebody with ruined tongue and you can't keep your eyes of him, pffffff.
Anyway, i'm not really into this song, but it does remind me of my 15. Fun anyway.

A different twist for me..... I have only one person in the world, literally. My only brother, my only... everything. But, he's halfway across the country from me. We're exactly alike.......even though we've only

Ummm...I'm pretty sure it's "You and me, and all other people". Makes a lot more sense. He's saying there's us(Which is all that matters), and there's everyone else(Who he can't even notice because he's so in love.). I could be wrong, but it just seems to fit better.

Lyrically, it's a pretty conventional love song. Which means that I will have fun tearing it down.

You know what I think is funny about this song? At the last chorus, he says,

"and I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of
you and me and all of the people"

The lines are run together so it sounds like he's saying that "I can't keep my eyes off of you and me and all other people." That is the opposite of what he's trying to say in this song. He checks out other women right in front of her! Ha ha.

So.... it's about the way this person makes him feel when they're around him..... she makes him feel like there's no one else in the room but them... and he can't find the words to tell her because they 'just aren't coming out right." I love it... has somebody ever made you feel like nothing even matters... time isn't even important when you're with them.... thats what Lifehouse is talking bout........ and I love it!

I have two theories about this one, and neither of them are kind, so please, excuse me in advance.
Jason wade is supposed to have been in a relationship for a while, am I right? So if this love song is based on personal lyrics, it’s not about her. It’s about another girl he has a crush on. This is way too infatuated to be about someone you’ve been with for years.
Other option is that he was notified that he has to write another hit single, like “hanging by a moment” before the ship sinks (after Stanley climbfall…?). I mean, he’s a terrific song writer, but sometimes he can be such a lyrics whore.
Great song. Really. They’ve done much better.

This song is a straight forward sonf written for the radio - simple chords, cute melody and lyrics that make it easy to relate to & understand... Lifehouse are a brilliant band (listen to the rest of the album - expecially track 4) ... they know how to right music - however with a recording contract - songs like this are inevatible ... they goto sell...

However, that does'nt mean that this song has no meaing at all... If i were to take a shot at it... i would say that it is simply about an infatuation at the begining of a possible relationship... I think he is at some place and he spots this girl - their eyes meet - and he can't keep watching her the whole time he is there... He can't understand his obsession:

"there's something about you now
I can't quite figure out
everything she does is beautiful
everything she does is right"

Just this simple infatuation has made his life seem lighter - it's easier to wake up - I think everyone has this at least one time in their life. So ... it's him and her at this place he is at ... there is somthing about her that infatuates him... he goes home... wakes up... remembers her and the feeling he gets:

"what day is it

this clock never seemed so alive"

This song is like "Haning by a moment" on the last album - it sells! It's not lifehouse - they are much deeper both musically & lyrically...
