I was living in a devil town
Didn't know it was a devil town
Oh Lord, it really brings me down
About the devil town
And all my friends were vampires
Didn't know they were vampires
Turns out I was a vampire myself
In the devil town
I was living in a devil town
Didn't know it was a devil town
Oh Lord, it really brings me down
About the devil town

General Comment:This song struck a really personal note with me. I was getting into religion, and started hanging out with one of my good friends and his stepmother, who was highly religious. Out of the blue, all of a sudden, she started claiming all our friends on facebook were satanists, and that we were too. So, that's what this song always reminds me of. It makes me laugh.

General Comment:This song to me describes a person going through a time where everything is fake. I specifically think of substance abuse. The realizes one day that none of his friends are really real without the substance. Also he didnt even realize all this was negative. People can get warped into the life and not even realize it until it's to late sadley.

General Comment:I just took it to be about perspective, and how when you leave a place, you learn that everyone else views you differently. He was always a vampire (metaphorically), he just didn't learn it until he saw what nonvampires looked like.

General Comment:I've always really related to this song.
Obviously other people may interpret it differently, but that's half the beauty of music.
By 'vampires' I always felt that it was just a metaphor about deplorable people who just suck the life out of you. And in the end realizes he is no different. I feel it really describes where I live. Everyone here just fucks one another over, theres no such thing as lasting friendship here. I used to think I was so different then everyone else, and above them but in time realized I'm really no different.
