Life it seems will fade away
Drifting farther everyday
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
I need the end to set me free
(Guitar solo)
Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly lost, this can't be real
I cannot stand this hell I feel
Emptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me, but now he is gone
(Guitar solo)
Let me see you

Let’s see those lighters of yours again

General Comment:I worship Metallica and Disturbed repectively and i covered this song on two acoustic guitars and a keyboard in the welcome party at my college. It was successful but it was recorded on poor sound quality. We played MIDI synthesized solos and attendants broke hell.

General Comment:well im one of metallicas biggest fans.
this song is about suicide and the fight one has with themselves when they are considering it.
yes, it was written in response to some equipment being stolen including hetfield's first amplifier.
the song is very rarely played live any more because while performing it hetfield was hurt by the pyrotechnics(spelling?). his guitar protected most of his internal organs and anything that really mattered. he however did suffer severe burns and because of this and because of the nature of the song the band has chosen not to play it as much.

My Opinion:Dan Donegan has become a better and better guitarist on each successive Disturbed album. I bet that if Disturbed still plays this song live, Dan plays the solo now. But the fact that back when they recorded this cut of it (You can find it on the 'Music as a Weapon II' live album I think.) they didn't even try to play the guitar solo or the rest of the song that comes afterward makes this cover irrelevant. Don't get me wrong, I like Disturbed a lot. But if you're going to try to cover one of the all-time greats, you've got to really put your all in to it. Half-assing it just won't cut it. As a result, this isn't even in the same ballpark as the original.

    General Comment:ok...disturbed are ok.
but wat band wod wana cover one of the best metal songs of all time, when they obviously cant be as goood as the origional, Metallica.

thye shud jus try to make their own music.
    not cover someone elses.
    anyways....

yeeh this song is in my opinion, the best Metallica song that they have.
    proper legend.
