Die
Thoughts replaced by a placid romance
Without movement, I cant escape
Die
Searching through the static
Twisitd and torn inside of
Such blinding visions of destruction
So i have to question
Was this in the master plan?
Now a broken future's all that we hold
Broken
Our broken future is all that we hold
Our day draws
To its close
Dusk
Washes away
Integrity now bleeds away
As tired hearts are left to drain
Do you see thier faces when you fall asleep at night?
Now they're nothing more than blood stained memories
Blood stained memories

General Comment:there have been a few different meanings to the phrase "smoke em if u got em", one of which means, "use them if you have them" - a possible reference to sending troops overseas to fight.

General Comment:Ok, this song is entirely about a tv show called Neon Genesis Evangelion. PWD probably thought it was a twisted story in itself so they pay homage to it here, as well as in their intro to their first album which is an audio clip from "The End of Evangelion", a movie that wraps up the tv show. They did this brilliantly because after the "I don't wanna die!" in the movie, the pacing of the movie increases. Basically that "I don't wanna die" was the que for a dramatic breakdown in the movie. Carnage insues, the likes of which are incredibly poetic. Just do yourself a favor and watch the damn movie.

General Comment:I wonder if it is really about the psychological effects on the soldiers, or if "Do you see their faces when you fall asleep at night? Now they're nothing more than blood-stained memories." is directed towards the leaders who are to be held responsible for the continuation of the war. Being that this was written in either 2003 or 2004, it could be directed towards George Bush.

As if Winston is attempting to make Bush feel guilty.

In the video, the main character guy could be someone responsible for the war, while the people standing around him are all of those dead from the war's casualties.

That's not really my belief, I actually think it's about the psychological effects on the soldiers, but it's a thought.

General Comment:honestly, some of these comments are ridiculous. okay so you've been following a particular genre for a while. so what? if you don't consider this band to fit into that, don't listen to them. i mean really, shouldn't they be able to write what the want to write? not have to worry about whether it fits into their genre or not? yes some of you have some fair points, but why do you care so much?
in the end its music. either you like it or you don't. stop stressing about whether bands are following the right genres or not.

Song Meaning:This song is obviously about a war vet suffering from PTSS, not about "metaphorical death scenarios."

General Comment:my interpretation is that the songs about war - if you listen to the intro of the song you can easily envision a battlefield, (ben gordon is mad)

but not only war but the psychological effect of it afterwards (bloodstained memories, do you see their faces) and how in the film clip everyone salutes that guy who was spewing up and stuff
