Watching the people get lairy
Is not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
And not very sensible either
A friend of a friend he got beaten
He looked the wrong way at a policeman
Would never have happened to Smeaton
And old Leodiensian

[Chorus]
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
I predict a riot, I predict a riot

I tried to get in my taxi
A man in a tracksuit attacked me
He said that he saw it before me
Wants to get things a bit gory
Girls run around with no clothes on
To borrow a pound for a condom
If it wasn't for chip fat, well they'd be frozen
They're not very sensible

[Chorus]

And if there's anybody left in here
That doesn't want to be out there

Watching the people get lairy
Is not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
And not very sensible

[Chorus]

And if there's anybody left in here
That doesn't want to be out there

[Chorus]

General Comment:It should say "An old Leodiensian", not "And old Leodiensians". They're talking about John Smeaton, who is an Old Leodiensian. ie. a former pupil of Leeds Grammar.

How do we get the lyrics changed?

I've lived in Leeds most of my life, and every time i go out I'm guaranteed to see or get involved in a fight. Where do you go when you go out? The library?
And why does you seeing just one fight when you've been at the library, make these guys talentless?
They have much more talent than you for a start, that's why their one of the biggest bands in UK.

General Comment:This song reminds me why I don't go into town anymore. Brilliant Lyrics. Inclidently John Smeaton was an Engineer from Leeds, there is a secondary school named after him in East Leeds. Leeds only produces famous engineers, we've never excelled in other fields.

General Comment:this song, like most kaiser chiefs song, is stupid. Having lived in Leeds for two years now I have seen one fight (between 2 students, in a club). Seeing as I am out in the town centre most weekend nights, it just proves to me how over-rated and talentless the Kaiser Chiefs are.

General Comment:Meh. It's not the greatest song in the world or anything. Not usually the thing I'd listen to but My friend showed me this song a while back. Reading the lyrics, I definitely think it's about chavs myself. And I hate chavs. I think they are disgusting. I'm sorry if you're a chav or are friends with chavs, but if you have been treated the way I have by chavs, you'd hate them too. Okayy?

General Comment:Could this song really be a tribute to t he one and only mystic meg? After all, she was good at predicting stuff. She may not have specifically predicted a riot but that's not the kind of news you want to be hearing whilst you're waiting for lottery numbers.

My point is she could've predicted it if she wanted to.
