Lyrics for Chrissy Kiss the Corpse as interpreted by pumkinhed

Chrissy Kiss the Corpse Lyrics
On a bus stop bench sat an ancient lady
It was clear she was dead, yeah, we all could agree
And that death had arrived quite unexpectedly
Because the poor wretch died with a book on her knee

Chrissy kiss the corpse
Chrissy kiss the corpse

David drew a mustache under her nose
Nick put a burning match between her toes
I put a cockroach in her pantyhose
Chrissy put on some lipstick and struck a dramatic pose

Chrissy kiss the corpse
Chrissy kiss the corpse

Chrissy's such a pretty lass
As benign as broken glass
No one in her family knows
The vile hobby that she chose

Some cops came by so we hid behind a tree
I peeked out and they noticed me
And said fondling the dead is a felony
But you got nothing to fear because we only came to see

Chrissy kiss the corpse
To see Chrissy kiss the corpse

Chrissy's such a pretty thing
Gentle as a scorpion sting
No one ever would suspect
That her mind's completely wrecked

My name is Chrissy. On their website they list it as "Chrissy" and not "Chrissie" which makes me happy.

Kevin said that this song is about what happens if you experiement with chrystal meth. However, in an interview he said that this song came about when he imagined his sister at her son's funeral, trying to kiss the corpse.

lepidptera3, that's interesting, because when I saw them last year, Kevin talked about the song before playing it; he explained it as when he was a bored teenager, his parents/friends' parents didn't really get involved with them, and never checked their liquor cabinet...leading them to steal it and have random drunken adventures around town, this one being one of them.

mwalk, he's also told stories about messing with old ladies for fun. Someone should compile a list of all the Chrissie stories he's told at shows.

I think that there is no real story, and Kevin just likes to make things up. That's fine with me. I like stories.

i really doubt its about necrophilia. i just think there has got to be some deeper meaning to a song like this. why would you salute having the hots for dead guys?

Necro, no, I get the vibe that is it episodic, something of a storytelling. If it was one of many adventures, why can it not just be about one of those interesting evenings, to be enjoyed and humored by. Either way, its very fun, though a slightly gross. great

It's definately Chrissy, not Chrissie. And I'm not sure what exactly this song is supposed to be about, and, apparently, Kevin doesn't either.

hmm, i do believe its all in the metaphors
After having recently read "Story of the Eye" which kevin references in another song, the novel is about doing outrageous things to break out of the norm(very roughly) and so i believe this just another example of this train of thought, transgressive.
