Lyrics for Thoughts on a Liberal Education as interpreted by lilgoldie

Thoughts on a Liberal Education Lyrics
I've been waiting for years for this to end
But now you're gone and I don't know where I am
Put my head in the books I burned for you
They'll revive me, that's what they'll do

I'll silence you with sex and drugs and education
Murder you in mind and heart for all you've put me through.
This is my last song for you
I will not be your number two.

And I ate poison growth with my new friends
And it was awkward to watch the colors bend
As I layed on the ground and drooled and sighed
I thought of you, love.
And how hard I tried

To silence you with sex and drugs and education
Murder you in mind and heart for all you've put me through
This is my last song for you
I will not be your number two

Silence you with sex and drugs and education
Murder you in mind and heart for all you've put my through
This is my last song for you X3
Maybe I won't be your number two

A girl who he really likes but she likes someone more than him...?

"I ate poision growth with my new friends
And it was awkward to watch the colors bend
As I layed on the ground and drooled and sighed
I thought of you, love.
And how hard I tried"

Wow...amazing lyrics. So..this girl rejected him & he got so depressed that he turned to drugs.

I actually think it's about a girl he loved in high school. He goes away to college and does the college thing to forget about her. He goes away and parties, tries to focus on school and his new life "and how hard he tried" to silence her. I think this is him saying he's finally getting over her.

this is about a mushroom trip (poison growth=psilocybin mushrooms)...during the trip he reminisces back to the girl in high school and realizing he doesn't want to be her backup plan, he doesn't want to follow her anymore when she obviously rejected him...this is the last song he will write her after this enlightening experience (it is quite enlightening)

yeah, its about the girl in high school who broke his heart and different ways to cope with depression.

sex with anyone to make you feel needed. drugs to make the feelings different or go away. school because apparently learning helps you deal with real life issues.. "[the books]'ll revive me..".

i really like this song. i bet a lot of people can relate to doing something thats not really advisable to get over something that sucked.

something else that i think is interesting is that he's silencing his own thoughs of her. hes not doing anything related directly to her liking talking to her..

sorry, i rambled
