What do I, what do I, what do I need to do
To see myself in a better mood?
What do you, what do you, what do you need to do
To get yourself in a better mood?

Well there's not a lot for you to give
If you're giving in
And there's not a lot for you to feel
If you're not feeling it
You bring it up, and bring it in
And we'll get you fixed up in no time

And what I wanted most, what I wanted most
What I wanted most, was to get myself figured out
And what I figured out, what I figured out, what I figured out
Was that I need more time to figure you out

This love is all I have to give
Well there's not a lot for you to give
If you're giving in
And there's not a lot for you to feel
If you're not feeling it
You bring it up, and bring it in, and bring it in
And we'll get you fixed up in no
We'll get you fixed up in no time

This love is all I have to give
This love

General Comment:this song is pretty self explanitory.
it's obviously about a relationship with a sigificant other.

the first verse, she's asking what they can do to improve their happiness.

the chorus, she saying that her other can't be happy unless she talks about her problems with the relationship they can fix it.

the second verse, she saying she wanted to figure everything out, but before she could do that, she needs to figure out what's wrong with her other.

the bridge, she saying the only thing she can offer to help her other is love.

General Comment:This could be completely random but I think it's interesting given the theme of the song:
"we'll get you fixed up in no time" is the exact same line used around the beginning of the movie Pleasantville.

You havn't be giving/putting much into this relationship so if you're giving up there isn't much you're giving up on.
And if you're not feeling something towards me by now i don't think you will ever be feeling much love towards me/this relationship.

General Comment:this song is so beautiful. I'm not sure what else to say about it that wouldn't be about what I'm feeling right now, but this song explains it perfectly.

General Comment:When someone close to you is hurt, you are left wondering what you can do to fix them up. And then you realize that the only thing you have for them is your love. That's it. At least, that's what this sing means to me.

    General Comment:From an interview...again ;-)
Tegan:''I like that song . . . I don't even know what to say about it. I guess there was lots of time that for Sara and I, being sisters and being family and being in a band for five years, it can be exhausting and at times I felt like sort of an unknown. With Sara moving to Montreal and talking a lot about going back to school, it was tough. There were times when I was writing this record where I was pretty sure that was it. You know, like I was writing my own record and Sara was gonna be done and wasn't contributing and wasn't returning my calls or hadn't sent me new music. I thought, jeez, this is it, she's gonna quit and I'm gonna be all on my own. And there's something about that song; I guess I was trying to get that feeling like you sort of have to enjoy what you have and you have to put in a hundred percent and give everything you have or really there's nothing to give because if you're being a big whiny bag all the time then that's all you'll be.''

General Comment:they took time off from each other to discover themselves and what makes them happy. One lover's not trying as hard as the other one. The more dedicated one is offering up all her love to work things out.... "This love is all I have to give" is probably my absolute favorite T&S lyric... it's so soft and desperate at the end
