  General Comment:I didnt actually think this song was about anything but the idea of it meaning being on top of your game sounds quite right, It is Juliette Lewis that sings on this track and she also sings on hotride and the spitfire i reckon is the old british plane cos ats what the stage was decorated with when i saw them at t in the park 05, hope that helps

  General Comment:Spitfire was the British plane that helped win the war, to us Brits it's a symbol of defiance and fighting against the odds.
  
  To say if I were in world war 2 they'd call me spitfire is like saying "if I were a golfer i'd be tiger woods" - it's about being top of your game

    You are right. Also the spitfire was created under the philosophy small but powerful and efficient. It was among the fastest airplanes of its day. It made a huge difference per plane, yet there were not many compared against the more standardized Hurricane. Still its symbolic work was akin to the US Mustang. It gave people hope in the same way that Achilles would have for the ancient Greeks. We as people are always small. Thus to say 'If I was in World War II, they'd call me Spitfire" is to say that I may be small, but I am still a rallying point and have a powerful fight in me.

  General Comment:to be exact it was just a fighter plane used by the british in dog fights, it was far from a jet, synonymous with british air forces.
  though I think this song lacks any specific meaning, still a good song though

    Amen. When he started talking about emo I thought this song was on a soundtrack with Dashboard Confessional, Paramore, Chisel, Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy, etc. That would be strange. And yes, all nu-metal sucks. It's not music.
