Did you ever feel like you wanna be
Someone else for just one day,
Did you ever feel like you wanna
See through another pair of lies,
Did you ever think I'm a wannabe with
Anyone else just one day,
Did you ever you really think of me when i walked away?

You look, you don't sound apologetic,
You smoke your subjects at my eyes, like you think,
You know where you think you'll find, you think you'll figure me out tonight,
But you'll never know what i won't share,
Cause I don't care and I don't care,
You think you'll figure me out tonight,
But I don't care,

And I wonder, if I'm just built this way,
Cause every man that I know, makes me feel like'I'm too plain'
When it's over and my selfish ways,
Go back to start again, go back to start again.

Did you ever feel like you should have said
Something smarter at that time,
Did you ever feel like you should have kept
In all to yourself,
Did you ever think it might be your fault
And never promise anymore,
Did you ever think it might not be me
Now it was always me?

You look, you don't sound apologetic,
You smoke your subjects at my eyes, like you think,
You know where you think you'll find, you think you'll figure me out tonight,
But you'll never know what i won't share,
Cause I don't care and I don't care,
You think you'll figure me out tonight,
But I don't care,

And I wonder, if I'm just built this way
Cause every man that I know, makes me feel like'I'm too plain'
When it's over and my selfish ways
Go back to start again

And I wonder, if I'm just built this way
Cause every man that I know, makes me feel like'I'm too plain'
When it's over and my selfish ways
Go back to start again, go back to start again

You look, you don't sound apologetic,
You smoke your subjects at my eyes, like you think,
You know where you think you'll find, you think you'll figure me out tonight,
But you'll never know what i won't share,
Cause I don't care and I don't care,
You think you'll figure me out tonight,
But I don't care,

And I wonder, if I'm just built this way
cause every man that I know, makes me feel like'I'm too plain'
When it's over and my selfish ways
Go back to start again,

And I wonder, if I'm just built this way
cause every man that I know, makes me feel like'I'm too plain'
When it's over and my selfish ways
Go back to start again, go back to start again

Go back to start again.

My Interpretation:I also think this song is about her sexuality.

General Comment:I have to agree, especially in light of her queer relationship with Lindsey Lohan. I always felt it was very much about her not connecting with the boys, and .. well, she's just built that way.

    "It was always me"

I actually think this song is REALLY obvious.

"I wonder if I'm just built this way, because every man that I know makes me feel that I'm to blame when it's over."

General Comment:I think this song can be about a guy or a girl. Because of the opening lines:

"Did you ever feel like you wanna be
Someone else for just one day,
Did you ever feel like you wanna
See through another pair of lies,
Did you ever think I'm a wannabe with
    Anyone else just one day."

I think this song is about someone being the complete opposite of what everyone thinks. I love this song. it perfectly describes how my life is right now. They think they know what you're all about but they don't. This song is amazing and not given enough credit.

Also these lyrics are off by so far.

General Comment:wow, these lyrics are seriously inaccurate

what i think this song is about is basically the same theme we get from 'mean girls' - a girl is labeled as a slut or a mean bitch or something, and everyone is convinced that's what she is and they keep telling her that, and eventually she believes it herself because that's how she acts and that's how everyone sees her. people assume they know her right away, but there is always more to her. there is always something under the surface that nobody bothers to discover or accept, because she's just a typical bitch, slut, etc..
it's almost like she's saying, "i would escape from this stereotype i've been trapped into if i could, but my society won't let me. no matter what i try, they continue to label me in a narrow-minded fashion. so, i just submit, and act the way they believe i should."

General Comment:Lyrics correction!! I got these lyrics off the artist's official Myspace. The second verse should be:

The looks, the dunks and the bottle of Jack
the smokes, the slouch and my eyes down
you think you know what you think you'll find
you think you'll figure me out tonight...etc

General Comment:"Did you ever really think of me when I walked away?" I'm not sure there is a person who doesn't relate to that line...It's almost as though when you walk away you do it just to see if anyone runs after you and when they don't you wish you hadn't run so far so fast.
