Uh-huh, Yeah,
Uh-huh, Yeah, uuh
Uh-huh, Yeah, uuh
Uh-huh, Yeah, uuh
Uh-huh, Yeah, uuh
Uh-huh, Yeah, Yeah

Hear my cries
Hear my call
Lend me your ears
See my fall
See my error
Know my faults
Time halts
See my loss
Know I'm lacking
Backtracking
Where I met you
Pistol packing
Itchy finger
Trigger happy
Try to trap me
Bad rap
Wiretap me
Back-stab me
Break the faith
Fall from grace
Tell me lies
Time flies
Close your eyes

Come with me
Come with me, Yeah
Come with me, Uh-huh, Yeah

You said to trust you
You'd never hurt me
Now I'm disgusted
Since then adjusted
Certainly you fooled me
Ridiculed me
Left me hanging
Now shit is boomeranging
Right back at you
Think long range
Narrow-minded
Left me blinded
I cosigned it
Shit backfired
But I'm bouncing back
I grinded
Not many would bear the pressure
You comprehend me
You want to end me
You offend me
It's trauma
Feel the trauma
Come with me

Yeah, Uh-huh, ah ha
Come with me, Don't be afraid, yeah
Come with me

I close my eyes
And I see..
You standing there
I cry...
Tears...
Of sorrow...
I die....

Uh-huh, Yeah

F**k my enemies
F**k my foes
Damn these hoes
You're stepping on my toes
Back up off me
Take your hands off me
Give me room to breathe
I'm not hearing it
I'm not fearing it
I'm up to my ears in it
Bullshit I'm destructive
Some women find that seductive
Some say it's lunacy
Reluctantly I've been moving on
I ignore you
Sorry if I bore you
I neglect you
Don't mean to disrespect you
Can't you see
I love you dearly
And that sincerely
But you annoy me
You can't avoid me
I'm here to stay
Forever and ever and a day
That's never
I can't let you go
I can't forget it
Why you did it
I won't permit it
And won't acquit it
I want to fight you
I'll f**king bite you
Can't stand nobody like you
You can't run
You can't hide
No surprise
Close your eyes

Come with me, yeah
Come with me
Come with me, AHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOWWW
Yeah, like this
Come on, Come on
Yeah turn me up, turn me up
Yeah yeah yeah, come on now, Yeah

Hear my cries
Hear my calls
Lend me your ears (Uh huh You ready now? Come on check this out)
Hear my cries
Hear my calls
Lend me your ears, Uhh (Oh yeah that's right, Oh yeah that's
right)

Hear my cries
Hear my calls
Lend me your ears
See my fall
See my errors
Know my faults
Time halts
See my loss
Know I'm lacking
Backtracking
Where I met you
Pistol packing
Itchy finger
Trigger happy
Try to trap me
Bad rap
Wiretap me
Backstab me
Break the faith
Fall from grace
Tell me lies
Time flies
Close your eyes
Come with me

Come with me [x8]

I'm gonna take you with me
I want to fight you
I'll f**king bite you
Can't stand nobody like you
You can't run
You can't hide
No surprise
Close your eyes

Come with me
I'm gonna take you with me
I'm here to stay
Forever ever
And ever and day that's never
Come with me

Uh-huh, Yeah [x6]
Come with me

My Interpretation:So much hatred for this song, just because it (apparently) tramples all over the untouchable Led Zeppelin. To me, they are two separate songs. Yet no one has looked at this song for what it is, preferring instead to castigate Puff Daddy. This one has a very real meaning for me.

To me, this is about a man coming to terms with a destructive relationship in his past. He's got so much pain inside caused by her, he wants to shout at her, fight her, tell her just how awful she was. He knows he can't literally do it and this frustrates him more.

The first batch of lyrics are where he's reflecting on himself. He can see the mistakes he made. He blames himself. He can also see the mistakes she made, all the things she did to break his trust in her. The fact that she can't see she did anything wrong frustrates him more.

The second batch of lyrics is his anger at her for her lies and deceit. He's empowered by this, which allowed him move past her and see the damage she did, but also that he LET her do. He's ashamed that he let her trample all over him. He's talking about revenge on her, wants the world to see her for what she truly is.

The "I close my eyes" part means to me that despite all of what he has discovered about her, he still misses her. At times he feels like a big part of him has died along with the relationship.

But the anger returns in the next batch of lyrics. He feels that she's trying to get back together with him but since he's discovered all the horrible things about her, he's determined to not let her back in. He feels surrounded by her, he can see her influence in everything. He loves her but knows they can't be together. He's realising just how beat down he became because of her, and that other people actually like him despite what she says. The anger at her is motivating him to improve himself, he doesn't forgive her for what she did. He won't let it happen again. He wants her to hurt like he does.

Then we go back to the first set of lyrics again. He goes back to reflecting about himself. Blaming himself for letting her hurt him. This often happens when you break from destructive relationships, yo-yo-ing between periods of self-criticism and anger at her.

He gets angry again, wanting her to see the hurt he has. He wants revenge. He wants her to think about what she has done for the rest of her life.

My Opinion:I am so goddamn tired of hearing how bad this song is, how Puff Daddy stole this song from Led Zeppelin, and how different it is from Kashmir. He sampled it, HE DIDN'T STEAL IT YOU STUPID ASS NEANDERTHALS!! We know because Jimmy Page was in it. This is SongMeanings where you determine the whole point of a song, not WhatTheFuckYouThinkAboutThisSong saying how much you hate a song. You don't like it then why the fuck do you keep listening to it? GTFO

General Comment:This song sucks in many ways, but I love listening to it.

The lyrics are shameful, the performance lackluster, and the production is truly mass-produced.

And yet, I'd listen to it over and over again.

It's like a creation by Limp Bizket, Good Charlotte or Insane Clown Posse.

You'd never admit listening to such music out loud to your friends or family, but you jam to it in the comfort of privacy.

Whatever the historical legacy of this song, I'll listen to it.

General Comment:to all those wondering, Jimmy Page DOES infact play the guitars in this song, its NOT a sample! but he wasnt in the studio with Puff Daddy. he was in his own studio in england being broadcasted to LA in Puff's studio. he did it only 2 takes if i remember correctly.

also for another bit of Trivia, Tom Morrello from Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave plays the bass guitar on this track. he came in during the mixing process and layed down the bass in one take 1 week before the song was released to radio. oh and the drums are not samples either, they are an actuall kit

General Comment:i love led zeppelin just as much as the next guy, and i still think this song is awesome,I think Diddy did a god job with the lyrics as well. and why would Jimmy page not want to do it. Is it such a terrible thing to take an old song, and mix it up a little bit? And people need to learn how to accept the fact thats there is more than one genre of music in the world

General Comment:This song should never have been allowed to exist, but if it had to, it shouldn't have sucked so much. Why did Puff even want to use this music when the original had nothing to do with what he is talking about. A 2-year old with a rhyming dictionary could've written this song (one angry little 2-year old) "I want to fight you, f****** bite you" - that's just stupid. 99% of this song is just space-filler and could've been summed up in 4 lines:
    Why did you betray me
    You're gonna regret it
    I'm gonna kill you
And myself too (for some reason)

So please Puff, do it soon so no more songs get ruined by a no talent ass clowns like yourself.

General Comment:Jimmy Page actually went into the studio and re-recorded the music with Diddy, so it's not sampling. And stop comparing this to Kashmir, they are two completely different songs in completely different genres. You can't compare apples and oranges, even if they share one fucking thing.

General Comment:i hate Puff Daddy, but i remember hearing this song when i was a young lad when Godzilla came out, and all i could notice were the drums. I actually really like the 'big' sound of them in this song. But no, it is no comparison to the original, none at all.
