The correct lyrics are:

"Saints protect her now
Come angels of the Lord
Come angels of unknown"

I think the song has a double meaning. One being the tie-in to the "concept." The other is in reference to the Way's grandmother who died.

"Sins protected her"
"Now come Angels of the Lord"
"Come angels of unknown"

meaning: she had to do bad to get away with the bad things she did in this story..so basically her sins protected her......."Sins protected her"
I am not really sure why he calls for the angels but maybe for the Lord's help [like a prayer] and the angels of unknown are the poeple like me and you [not really me and you but the people in the story] trying to help save her.... or help her not do the things she does .....maybe in that case it could be "Saints protected her"

Really confusing to me....

I really like this track. It has a Radiohead kind of atmosphere to it, that same kind of style, it works surprisingly well.

I've seen on another website that the lyrics are

Sinners return to hell now
come angels, love come
come angels, love come

there are a lot of different verisons of this song, so we can't really tell what it means if we can't even tell what it says

LOL! It seems we're never going to figure out what he's saying unless we ask Gerard himself. Or he may say something totally weird like a librarian eating spaghetti-o's (haha, read the comments for "Vampires Will Never Hurt You") I never listened to it that closely but to me it always sounded like he was saying "Sister....ter...ter" and then I couldn't tell what he said after that. LMAO. But I suppose what you guys are saying is much clearer.... The whole concept does confuse me, though. About getting the corpses of 1000 evil men, some songs (such as Hang 'Em High) totally fit the concept but others (such as I'm not okay) don't. I think a lot of the songs are about Elena dying, like Helena and The Ghost Of You. It bothers me how some of the songs totally don't fit the concept, and I know that the concept is about the 1000 evil men because in Metal Edge magazine Frankie says it. (Or maybe it was Mikey who said it... I think it was Frankie..) Yep... wasn't that a lovely comment...
Anyways, you should get the issue of Metal Edge where they interviewed Frankie & Mikey. It was interesting.

perhaps we dont really need to listen to the words of the song... maybe its the music that holds meaning. It can go anyway... heaven, hell, angels etc. but once again its very spiritual (like 'thankyou for the venom') so its a good intro to the later songs

I really like this Interlude, and I agree with some of you that said MCR were kinda trying to create the same effect they did with 'Romance' on their first album...I really think they should of turned this into a proper 'full length' song, as much as I completely worhsip and adore MCR (lol) I think its kinda sad that apart from the beginings of 'Demolition Lovers', and 'Early Sunsets Over Monroeville' there arent really any slower songs.

ok. well i dont know what the correct words are, because everything you've all said sounds like it could fit. The "saints protect her now" really fits well, but i think its cool how this means something different to everyone. its fully open to interperetation. its ok, i dont spell things well. anyway, i like how it leads into thankyou for the venom. and its a nice break from the rest of the album. You listen to the whole thing, and its all very edge-of-your-seat stuff, minus Ghost of you, so this is a nice break, to sort of give you a bit of a rest, before going on into more exciting stuff. very cool.

i very much agree with infamous cliche, i love the interlude. it makes you calm down and relax before going crazy with thank you for the venom. my lyrics are quite different from some of the others though. my opinoin is he says:
since we talked to her..........now
come angels love her...
come angels love.....
i think it is about him asking the angels to watch over his grandma now that she has passed away. but that is just my opinion about the song. and just so there is no hostility i am not saying that everyone else is wrong, i am just stating my opinion.

i love this interlude. its a nice break right before it goes into thank you for the venom. its a sweet way to start the song. its like, it gives u a break to save up energy to act all crazy when u listen to the last few songs.

ive listened to this song many times before and i always saw it (as pointed out before) like a prayer to god to help him finish his mission in resurrecting his girlfriend by killing the 1000 evil men... ive also seen it as a prayer to keep his girlfriend's body, that is hidden in the well, safe from the people that don't want gerard to bring her back...i also got the idea that since the song was near the end that he was almost finished with killing the 1000 people that he needed to kill and he prayed that he could have the strength to finish his mission....

this song is just so beautiful and it really adds a spiritual effect to gerard's story that he is telling through the album... its such a short song but it has a lot to do with what gerard wants the album to mean and its a soft song so its really different compared to the rest of the album....

whoever says that this song is totally pointless is a dumbass...ghost of you is another song that people say is pointless to the album, but i see that song as a time when he lost hope because when he says "you are never coming home" it means he lost hope in bringing his girlfriend back to life...i'm not okay is another song that people say is pointless, but when he says "i'm not okay, you wear me out" he means that saving her is near impossible and hes trying his hardest, but he is getting tired of fighting...also as when he says "if you wanted honesty" he's telling her the truth that he might not be able to ever bring her back and that he's thinking about suicide so they can meet in the afterlife to make it easier because he's lost hope in winning the battle...

i really took a lot of time to think about the whole album fitting together...i could be completely wrong, but this is how i see interlude and it is (in my opinion) a very important part of the album because it tells a story...

i ♥ mcr and how they can always see things through....

hey, i got it. on their website they say something like three cheers was partly dealing with the band's experiences and the other half was about making a deal with the devil. so i kinda think the first part (tracks 1-7) are about their experiences and then the interlude seperates that from the last 5 songs, which i think are the songs about making that deal with the devil. thats just my interpretation tho...

to me this song stands out because of the tempo, similar to previous songs demolition lovers and early sunsets in monroeville. to me it represents a faust type deal with satan that someone is trying to get out off and has had the wrath of evil set upon them
