    General Comment:I think the song is about drugs. Like in the first part he's saying toss me a breath- because the whole drug thing is too much for him and he's feeling sick. His drug problem is growing which is not helping him deal with things any better. He's feeling like he's on a trip , so someone page the doctor just incase he doesnt make it.

    (2nd verse)
    He is saying this rockstar life is killing him. & how it was silly of him to dream of this lifestyle being easier. The girls love him but boys not so much.

    3rd-
    Goes Again this goes back to a drug like trance. Saying he feels like he's on a fast or "homeless sleep" ( you know how homeless go to sleep hungry)
    But atleast while he's in this lifestyle he gets to play songs that he loves
    But he's still dreaming of life being much simpler


    4th-
    Betty Annie (his mom) is just praying for them constantly
    & Baby (his girl) is constantly crying wishing he would just give this lifestlye up

    "Low and behold things are killing me, silly expectations of a dream. Girls are goin-a love the way I toss my hair; boys are goin-a hate the way I seem." - could also be his mum having silly dreams that will never come true? and also his mum thinks that girls (her friends) will be proud of her for getting pregnant, but boys will hate the way she seems as women go through physical changes when they get pregnant (get bigger, sorry to be blunt) - her being too self conscious?

    My Opinion:"Betty, Betty, Annie" is a reference to their mum, because their mum is called Betty-Anne. Think the song could be about their mom conceiving caleb.

    "Betty, Betty, Annie is a-praying, Baby with man like lungs, Smell her crying fighting back a fever mad as hell; give up!" - her actually giving birth to caleb. baby with man like lungs (the baby crying/calebs strong singing voice). her crying fighting back a fever mad as hell (pain of child birth)

    "Something's a-growing that don't help me now, paging the doctor just in case." - baby bump growing?? asks the doctor to make 100% sure what it is??

    "Low and behold things are killing me, silly expectations of a dream. Girls are goin-a love the way I toss my hair; boys are goin-a hate the way I seem." - Caleb as a youngster looking into the future and having big dreams? saying girls will like him for being different but boys wont be too impressed?

    Just my opinion but i think the songs about caleb's mum conceiving and giving birth to him and a little about how he saw himself in the future when he was younger.

    General Comment:I believe this is another song Caleb wrote about his issues with depression(black Thumbnail is another). He goes through bouts of bi-polar(ish) moods so I've heard. If thats true, then maybe they last only a day or so, and on those days, he gets anxious about his success and the pressures(lo and behold things are killin me) that come with the "dream" becoming reality. when he refers to "dreamin bout a place I'll never see" i think he's refering to Heaven. There is a lot of Christian guilt in Calebs writing, for obvious reasons. I think he battles with the idea of him not making it into Heaven. And in the final verse I think could be about his Mom going through the same bouts of depression when they where younger, with 3 kids, (maybe Jared was a cryer!) and the hubby not helping out. anywho, the beautiful part about Calebs writing is that it is open to interpretation, and many of us can take something personal away from it. Love the song, love KOL.

    General Comment:Hmm I could be really wrong, but while agreeing that it's about getting a woman preggers and what not, it's also about the kid dying when it's born, what with it being called "day old blues"... The bit where it says "girls are going to love the way I toss my hair, boys are going to hate the way I seem" I thought it was talking about what the kid would be like if he'd lived and grown i[, but these are just "silly expectations of a dream" because he dies so it wont happen... "Feels like a fast or homeless sleep", well if it is about a baby dying at birth, then it's a fast sleep because it barely had a chance to live, and it's homeless because it's life has been so breif it's not had chance to make a home? I dunno... Anyway, I don't think the bit at the end where is says "baby with a man like a lung" is wrong, I think that's a refernce to trying to resucitate it. Like I said, possibly (probably?) wrong, but yeah awsome song whatever it's about!
