I've been down and
I'm wondering why
These little black clouds
Keep walking around
With me
With me

It wastes time
And I'd rather be high
Think I'll walk me outside
And buy a rainbow smile
But be free
They're all free

[Chorus]
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home

I look around at a beautiful life
Been the upper side of down
Been the inside of out
But we breathe
We breathe

I wanna breeze and an open mind
I wanna swim in the ocean
Wanna take my time for me
All me

[Chorus: x3]

General Comment:Like many others, I first heard it at the end of Crash. I was mezmerized. It's one of those mystical songs that just grabs you. The beat, the background vocals, the gravely voice instrument. Only later did I investigate the lyrics. I agree with most posts. The song stands alone and is not about any movie. If the shoe fits.... ok.

The lyrics are awesome. Most of you get it, so I won't be repetitious.

One of my obsession songs. I can listen to it over and over, and do. Like right now.

    BTW

    Urban dictionary

    Rainbow Smile, definition

"1. to smile out of happiness while crying of sadness"

It's such a great song. It's so HUMAN. This is what I love about Kelly's music. You don't have to be an emotionally fragile muso or a poet to understand his lyrics. The lyrics are so basic, so raw. You know exactly what he's talking about. It touches me so much. I dream to this song. At work I always have one earpiece in my ear, and when this song comes up my eyes just glaze over and I feel like, here's this musician who lives thousands of kilometers away. He's a completely different person with a completely different life and we'll probably never cross paths as long as we live, but he's still felt what i've felt.

You just get down sometimes and you don't know why. There's no reason for it! It's a waste of a day, a waste of a few precious hours of life you KNOW, but you can't help it. No matter who you are, no matter what life you lead, you just wanna escape from it once in a while.

General Comment:this is the first song that i heard from the Stereophonics. I found it, as many people here have, at the end of CRASH, which is a beautiful film and this song fits perfectly with the ending scene.
Straight away, i went on a mission to get all their music. The more i listened to, the more I was amazed.

    This band is WIN.

General Comment:Its meaning is pretty simple. He's not happy and he's hoping that someday he will be.

General Comment:This song is so amazing, it really gives me hope right now. I think it's about taking your time to get over something. It's about accepting that some times are just bad. In my case, I feel down because of a broken heart and I want it to be over because "it wastes time" - but there's nothing I can do about it, I just have to wait until this is over. It could be tomorrow, it could be later, but I think he's sure that those little black clouds will disappear some day, and I'm sure about that too. For now all I can do is "take my time for me, all me" and realize we still breathe. And maybe tomorrow... I'll find my way home...

General Comment:It's about wasting time instead of taking your time to do the things that really means something to you, but that's right because that is all that you can do today..maybe tomorrow it will be different.

General Comment:This song probably qualifies for my "All Time Top 5". I've listened to this song so many times, I should hate it by now. I think it's about how we all feel down and depressed from time to time, but that it's important to find joy and happiness from wherever possible. Someday you'll find something which truly makes you happy, and which makes you stay that way; even when you're down and depressed.

    // I've been down and
    I'm wondering why
    These little black clouds
    Keep walking around
    With me
    With me//

He's depressed, can't figure out why all the shit in life happens to him. We all feel that way when we're down, but we also know - deep down - that shit happens to everyone.

    // It wastes time
    And I'd rather be high
    Think I'll walk me outside
    And buy a rainbow smile
    But be free
    They're all free//

We know that being depressed is just a waste of time, but that doesn't stop us. The easiest way of escaping a depression is getting out there, looking for a smile where you can find it. The beauty of a rainbow can bring a smile to your face if you let it, and the damn thing's even free. Being happy is free, it should be free.

    // So maybe tomorrow
    I'll find my way home
    So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home //

I think "find my way home" is a metaphore for finding his own true source of happiness. For some, it's getting that job they've always wanted. For others, it's finally meeting the guy/girl of their dreams. Others have always wanted a baby, but haven't had the luck so far. Maybe their application for an adoption went through, or whatever. If you just keep reaching for the simple joys in life, and never giving up, the true source of happiness will come along, you'll find your way home.

I think that the last verses describes how he feels everyone else has their source of happiness, how he's been everywhere, feeling everything, not still having found his true source. I think it's about staying in there, having the patience, taking the time you need to get what you need, and it will come true.

Long comment, but for an "All-time top 5"; I think it's worth it... :)
