Carry out the sound
Past our eyes horizon
I\'\'m standing still, I\'\'m standing still
Waiting for this all to change
Now my hands are up.
I\'\'m walking out, I\'\'m walking out
What do you expect of me?

Did you think that this was all an excuse for
Hospitality
I know you think its all because of me
At first glance, I\'\'ll breathe in
Leaving myself no room to move, at all
My mind is so flooded and I\'\'m drunk with regret
Swimming in a sea of hope tonight
I find your hand and trace it with mine
As we push away with everything we have
With everything we have left

Oh you\'\'re acting on my words
We can start the fire, that will light up the night
No I wouldn\'\'t be too sure of you at all
We\'\'ll watch it burn together on respective sides
(yeah)
We look so good, as we fall

I\'\'ll go ahead and re-elect perfection
Its never looked as good as it does on you right now
I\'\'ll go ahead and make an incision
Doubt you\'\'ll feel anything at all
A fake, a fraud, forked tongue and I am nervous
At least I can say I made it out this time
I am just fine where you have left me
As for you be sure to cover up your mouth

I don\'\'t know how to say this
My thoughts have just run out

i have a strong feeling that this song is about spencers acceptance into the band not only from the band members but the fans and not just deciding the old underoath was better and they have taken a step backwards. I think its basically spencer pleading with people not to put down the new underoath at first glance and just embrace they're new style: Clearing as the sound Wraps around the horizon Im standing still, I'm standing still Waiting for one change. Now I know it's over Im walking out, I'm walking out What do you expect of me? I think this explains the trouble spencer has had through trying to fill the shoes of Dallas

We'll run around and chase these people, As we push away with everything we have, with everything we have. What i think is being said here is the new underoath trying to satisfy fans of old underoath yet they seem to be disapproving and not letting the music grow on them, basically pushing them away

just read the rest of the lyrics and it becomes self explanetory.

At the Underoath/Co&Ca concert in Toronto, Spencer said they're releasing THey're Only Chasing Safety soon with this song on it.

whoever suppled those lyrics must have been high at the time. This is what i got from the chorus … I’ll go ahead and re-elect perfections It’s never looked as good as it does on you right now I’ll go ahead and make an incision Doubt she’ll feel anything at all I think I’m gone, before it’s time You’ll notice, at least I can say I’ve made it out this time I’m just fine where you have left me That’s why you’ll be sure to cover up To cover up us both …

Carry out the sounds past the west horizons Im standing still, standing still Why I parted all the change Nobody indured. Im walking out, walking out What Do you Expect of me?

Did you think that this was all an excuse for hospitality? I know you think its all because of me At first glance i'm breathing leaving myself no room to move at all My mind is so flooded and im drunk with regret swimming in a sea of hope tonight I find your energy sequenced mine as we push away with everything we have, with everything we have

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
