I'd like to sing to you if you'd like me to
I'd like to sing to you if you'd like me to
I'd like to sing, sing, sing, sing, sing to you
Alone

And I'd like to dance with you if you'd like me to
I'd like to dance with you if you'd like me to
I'd like to dance, dance, dance, dance, dance with you
Alone

I'd like to sleep with you if you'd like me to
I'd like to sleep with you if you'd like me to
I'd like to sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep with you
Alone

Ribbons around the fumes
We'll be sleeping soon
Ribbons around the fumes
We'll be sleeping soon
Ribbons around those fumes
Alone

this song seems in tone to be very melancholy, like he doesn't expect the person he's singing for to actually want him to do any of these things... but at the same time, there's some sort of sensuality in the way he sings the lines. i think that's because on one hand he knows it's futile to utter these thoughts to the person, but he also greatly desires these things to transpire, and you can hear that in his voice.

the ribbons around the fumes i think are ribbons of smoke curling around the flame of his desire for the person... and the sleeping soon may be because they part soon after he sings this, or he gets his way and sleeps with the person... the way i think the song ends really depends on my mood at the time of listening. sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses horribly.

i love songs that have a storyline in a way like that(in my mind, that is)
