Oh papa, don't be so mad
I'm taking the car for so very fast
You won't mind it missing at all
Oh papa

C'est ça va, don't worry 'bout me
I'll be safe, come home early
You won't mind me missing at all
Oh papa

Oh papa, don't be so mad
I'm taking the car for so very fast
You won't mind me missing at all
Oh papa

General Comment:oh, and by the way it makes sense, since devendra's chummy with Andy Cabic/Vetiver. I kind of assumed that as a given in my post.

General Comment:so, who else heard this song and thought of devendra banhart's "Ay Mama"? Both this and Niño Rojo came out in 2004 (although I don't know which came first, and don't forget that Devendra released two albums that year, as well, and Niño Rojo was the second) and both open the albums (basically, since Ay Mama comes after a cover). They're very similar sounding songs and have very similar concerns. What I'm saying is, they're two sides of the same coin, two answers to the same question.

General Comment:This is one of those songs that you can listen to and it blends into whatever you are doing. It's smooth and a little folksy. I think it has to do with being a teenager. Who hasn't wanted to borrow their parents car? Instead of fighting with his father he plays on the good things about him going out. He won't be gone for long and he'll take care of himself. I think the song pretty much speaks for itself.

If you don't like the lyrics, just listen to it for the music. It's really soothing and nice. I like it.
