Lyrics for Bury Me In Black as interpreted by TheShowerScene

Bury Me In Black Lyrics
I said, we'll drown ourselves in misery tonight
I lied, you've worn out all your dancing shoes this time

Just give us war, worn lipstick by the door if I inflame

These eyes have had too much to drink again tonight
Black skies, we'll douse ourselves in high explosive light

Just give us war, I've been calling you all week
for my shotgun

Pick up the phone
Pick up the phone fucker

I wanna see what you're insides look like
I bet you're not fuckin pretty on the inside
I wanna see what you're insides look like
I wanna see em

Well you don't say
And well I can explain what happened to my face
late last night
I'm sleepin next to pools in vacant alleyways
And what I'm goin through, shot lipgloss through my veins
And when I can't complain
With the falling rain

C'mon

I wanna save your heart
I wanna see what your insides may be

This song is so awesome, one of my favourites.

I was pissed they didn't play it, that would have been rad.

It's so angry...I just love the passion in it.

This song is really heavy and really good, i think its the lyrics r just as "heavy" and dark as some of the songs off their new album, the actual music in this song is just much heavier, but i just hate it how people always say "it sucks that theyre getting mainstream and all the posers r getting to like them" well so wat if they r, im not saying i'm one, but i honestly think MCR doesnt mind that more and more people r beginning to like them

Why do you think that the people that see them on tv are 'false fans'? I don't agree or disagree, i just want to know your reasoning. And what the hell is a poser? and for that matter whos to say tht someione is or isn't a poser? I don't think that's fair.

it's about wanting your shotgun back from your friends who stole it in the first place just to get you pissed off and because of that you went partying without them........no that's not it...
These lyrics are meaningless.
I don't even have the song.

I do believe this song is about getting drunk and letting all your anger out.

"Pick up the phone fucker!"
"I bet you're not fuckin pretty on the inside"
"Just Give us war"
"too much to drink again"

(p.s: how can i post lyrics?) i'm sorry it's shameful...

i think the way he screams "I lied", "these eyes" and "black skies" is cool too.

and the guitar part during the "i bet you're not fuckin pretty on the inside" (listen closely)
ray and frank are good guitarists, they've prooven themselves in this song.

I love this song. Love love love. I even titled my account after it.. hah.

These lyrics are about a guy who loves a girl but can't have her, and has been driven into madness by it. He keeps calling her up when he's drunk and leaving messages on her answerphone (she won't pick the phone up) telling her he wants to kill her and see her insides..

At least that's what I think anyway.

^^^I agree with that. This is such a great song *has it on repeat*

And on the whole popularity issue: I think that it's OK for a band to get popular as long as they don't sell out. So what if there are more posers? Posers are amusing and pretty easy to spot. I mean, when you hear someone say "Omigosh MCR is the best band in the world, Helena and I'm Not Okay are the best songs EVER!" you've pretty much got them nailed. So what's the problem? You know that they're posers and that you aren't. So they like them for the hits, let them have their fun hyperventilating on the subject of Helena and mock them later. All that matters is the music, and if the music's still good then what's the problem? And to those who said they DID sell out, so what the second album isn't as heavy? It's the way they choose to sound because they think it's better for the the feel of their album. Also, they probably had more of a budget on a major label and could make it sound smoother, as opposed of the raw sound they had on the first CD. I think if they were with WB for their first CD it would sound more like their second and visa versa. When Three Cheers came out most people didn't even know it was there until MTV decided that they liked the sound and put the video on their station. It wasn't like they had some sort of previous fame and decided to tone it down to get even more people to listen. It was simply how they thought it should sound. Three Cheers was a concept album after all and it was very theatrical, so it's fitting that the music follow that.

in response to alovely's question:

Not all people who discover MCR on MTV or Fuse are false fans, but a large majority are.

See companies/networks like MTV only want bands/musicians while they're hot. They make little, unknown bands huge, and present them as 'passing fads.' The kids who (unknowingly) see the bands/musicians as passing fads will just drop the band in a few years, or as soon as they are "over" them. Those kids can be known as 'false fans'

Some people who have listened and supported MCR since their basement days like to call themselves 'true fans.' Why? Because they think they're better because they listened to MCR while they were unknown and unpopular.

Kids who like MCR because they are "hot" or who only like the band because they find them attractive are also known as 'false fans.'

The bottom line is that a 'false fan' is just a name another fan gives a fellow fan, because they think in one way or another they are better than them. Whether it be the way the dress, they're seniority, whatever.

lol i can already tell this is going to be a long comment.

1st of all....
XBurried in BlackX-- haha thats funny cuz this song is heavier than alot of their other ones... i didnt think it really sounded like MCR at first either.... hehe... your prob rite. could b mistaken....

2nd of all........
i love this song, its great... i found it online and downloaded it... i was kinda mad it didnt go on an album... made it hard to find it 0.o

3ly...
About the whole Poser Vs. "realy Fan" issue, i think that alot of kids really do just like bands for their hits.... but so what?? i mean you cant make a direct link between a band getting popular and them going on Mtv and the whole poser thing. For one this topic really upsets me cuz who is to say that ppl r posers??? and if they r let them b. As for me It's normally all about the Lyrics... to me thats what makes a song stand out. And yeah the first time I heard of MCR was when i heard Im not okay over the radio. And so what??? i liked the song and it made me set out and find All their other songs. Just cuz the way somebody finds a band doesn't tell yooh if theyre a poser or not.... if your gunna go and call me a poser just cuz i didnt kno of MCR in their basement days than fine... i really could care less what you think. Another thingi is, that i only have a few friends among the group i hang around that i actually take advice on music from. Meaning my outlets r limmited. so ya.... idk. i think everyone just needs to forget about who is a poser and whos not. Its pretty hard to find a band where almost EVERY SINGLE song is awesome... so regardless of what anyone else thinks, Im going to keep listening to MCR and the what ever other music. Im not tryin to b a pain in the ass, but i strongly advise everybody to listen to what ever the hell you end up liking and, if u will, just b yourselves.

See, this is the kind of songs i like, the kind of songs that say "don't worry, the next album is gonna be heavier, no poppy crap, just pure emo/screamo!"
this song is awsome, and i'm happy to know other people appreciate it as much as i do!
to thinkhappythoughts:
I also get pissed off at people who put MCR along the lines of pop-punk.
Now how the hell did MCR got classified among mediocre bands like Avril, Good charlotte, simple plan, relient k and fallout boy??!!
I mean, listen to Bury me in black, Our Lady of sorrows, Vampires will never hurt you, I never told you what i did for a living and hang'em high!
does that sound like Pop/Punk-pop to you?
NO!
It's emo!
GC and simpleplan are not emo!
emo is MCR, the used, AFI (new songs)...etc!
emo is pure poetry and beautiful heavy music, don't let the mainstream brainwashing trick you into thinking that those other bands are emo.
Spread the word!!!

MCR is not pop-punk last time I checked in pop-punk people dont get shot and die

and if you like the band who cares if you've been with them since they started or brought the cd yesterday what annoys me is people who like the band because Gerard is hot ok I mean he is good looking but he was a really good voice and Frank and Ray can both play the gutair amazingly they actually got me to start praticing again but if you just like the band because you think they all 'hott' MCR has great lyrics even if they were ugly I'd still love them they have a great message

right on! say your word!
Anyone else got a word to shout out?!
this thread will go down in history as the fight for MCR's liberation from the "pop-punk" label.
