Lyrics for we can have it as interpreted by PLANES

we can have it Lyrics
last night all the horrible things in life stormed through my dreams and i just want to shut it up shut it down or shut it off

going where we lost it all yet things before are with us now it hurts it kills it takes the joy it brings no light it brings no love

and what we want most is nowhere to be found some people care theyre going long theyre going deep and still its nowhere to be found

were looking far were searching wide still its nowhere to be found what we want is gone for good its simply nowhere to be found

somewhere is the one that never will burn out is out there looking for a heart looking for a home looking for a hand to stoke its head youre not alone and you never said ill see you again you never said i will i will

somewhere someone says they got it all but thats not even what we want not even close it wont ever be what we want

i love the build up to this song, the whole first few minutes is slow and then it just goes insane!
it always makes me cry.

its so amazing!
but, i cannot interpret it, because to me it is so so deep. and can have many different meanings.
Loveeeeeee it!

What really gets to me with each of the lyrics websites is that they all retain the misquotation for "shut it up, shut it down or shut it off," they have it as "shine it up, shine it down or shine it off."

Well I Can Explain My View On Some Of The Song.
I Can See In Here A Relationship Breakdown, He Says That Everything Isn't What They Want, Prehaps They Just Want Their Relationship Fixed.
And It Also Says About "the one that never will burn out" Prehaps He's Saying That There's Someone Out There With Whome He Can Have A Relationship That Won't 'Burn Out'.
It's A Brillaint Song And I Love It.
I Think I Have It On Repeat To Much Though...

I think this song is about the singer speaking for both him and the soul mate who is "out there". In the 3rd verse where he speaks of people going long, and going deep, I understood as that's the intensity of relationship he and the soul mate are looking for. then in the 5th verse where he describes "someone is out there looking for a heart, a home, etc." drives home the point, that there is another out there looking for the same type of connection with someone. the mental pic I get is imagining 2 people trying to find each other in a large crowd. As for the references of a possible prev. relationship, I agree it's possible but this is merely the impression I get and what the song means to me. So again briefly, the singer is looking for another person with the same emotional intensity to have a relationship with.

The Dears have just reaffirmed my love for Arts & Crafts. The Canadians should be extremely proud of that label. It's going on my top 5 labels.

Awesome song, defenitely my favorite off of No Cities Left. As to what is means...the lyrics "Going where we lost it all; yet things before are with us now" really speaks of some of the deep overall meaning of the song for me...Lightburn is remembering a relationship that is gone, that ended badly, where things fell entirely apart and now there is nothing salvagable left. Most importantly, no matter what anyone says, even if what they say is something like "you're not alone," the fact that that relationship is gone will never go away. And now the memory of this floats back to the surface as perhaps it always does.
Just noticed this while scanning the lyrics...so I'll just throw it out there and I'd love for someone to say what they think: could this song be about anger at God, or more specifically, Christ, for seemingly leaving us 2000 years ago? (This would explain the rather arbitrary change from 1st person singular to 1st person plural after the first stanza.)

i just commented on "lost in the plot" and you used the word "intense" to describe this song, as did i on "lost in the plot" i think its safe to say the dears are intense, which makes them so good
