Lyrics for Boulevard Of Broken Dreams as interpreted by da_coolio

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams Lyrics
I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Blvd. of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone

Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh
Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line of the edge
And where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everythings all right
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
And I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone

Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh
Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh

I walk this empty street
On the Blvd. of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a..

My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk away!

yea, in reply to somebody's comment up there.... i wouldn't consider this to be a romantic song at all...i think

"im walking down the line that divides me somewhere in my mind, on the border line, of the edge and where i walk alone"

is referring to him having a borderline personality disorder, or split personality disorder, or any of those somewhat in relation....if you think back to other past dgreenday songs, a lot also fit with this thought.

This song is as good as any of Avril Lavigne's songs. Their all fake, and their stealing your money, stop fooling yourselves. Stop promoting mediocrity. And their older stuff was WAY better.

Props to Atthedrive-in

That's alot of b/s and u plus Atthedrive-in r alot of b/s to. Green day don't come close to what Avril Lavigne sings. Green day is alot better then that can't sing odd-ball. The only thing real good about her is her looks, but i'm getting off the subject. U said and I quote "Their all fake, and their stealing your money, stop fooling yourselevs." end quote. Their not fake or stealing the bayer's money. Yes their older stuff was good, but alot of times u can only get better (like if one.) Sometimes u don't like *nsync for example, but they didn't have a chance to being with. But u get my point. Do go put some other band down u bloody no-minded loser.

radiogod is right. in fact the only difference between avril lavigne and green day is that green day used to be good.

Reminds me of myself, and how when u get down to it......the only one you can truly rely on is yourself. But even knowing how sad the world and life is.....you keep walking and keep going

thank you to the people who actually try to explain the meaning of the song rather then those who post "GREENDAY FUCKIN ROCKS MAN!"...which in fact they do...

The whole album is a cynical "Rock Opera" that relates directly to American life. This song applies on that level as well as other more personal levels, which is the main reason why it is good.

Angel of Dark Tears, I'm not understanding what you're saying. you said "Sometimes u don't like *nsync for example, but they didn't have a chance to being with. But u get my point." That doesn't make sense, what did you mean?
And what I meant by their fake and their stealing your money is that they sold out. Before they were good, but i sense that their music lost it's quality. It seems like mainstream pop, and its very trendy.. That's what happens when you're record company manipulates you to put out different kinds of music to appeal to the greater crowd so they can make more money.
Next time, make sure the person is a bloody no-minded loser before you call him that.

i never really liked greenday till i heard this song. omg it rocks. the video is a little predictable, "look at me, i'm a little rebel, pass the eyeliner, blah blah" but the song is beltin. the lyrics are pretty deep an kinda sad, it's kinda a way of sayin that you're alone but you'll keep going on with everything cos you think there's someone out there for you. ok, it sounds like a lovesong by the backstreet boys when you put it like that, but i still love it

radiogod, and atthedrive in, you need to look deeper into green day and maybe learn a little more about them. This album doesn't suck at all, and some may say (have said on other songs, maybe this song too) that they've become part of the new media, and shit, but when you know more about green day than just them by the name of "green day." you'd understand what the cd's really about and whatever. I don't want to give shit away cause you need to figure it out in your own time.

Yay, I finally got to the bottom of the page! Hehe. This song does rock...hehe...but it doesn't QUITE beat 48May's Home By 2. Haha...the problem is, New Zealanders overplay songs...such as Hoobastank - The Reason and Greenday - American Idiot.

Like I said before, this is the best of song of 2k4 and it's overplayed because some corporate criminal deemed it as being popular. The teenagers of the world (and many twentysomethings and thirtysomethings) are nothing more than consumerist sheep. We ingest anything the "popular" mouthpieces tell is popular. My run-in with Dookie came 2.5 years ago after I saw a special about it on VH1. Did I become enraptured with the CD because the aliens beneath the facade told it was an "ultimate album". Maybe, almost to a yes. I admit my claim to being an easily-entertained consumer and that is maybe the utmost, underlying reason for my liking of Green Day as a whole. Yeah, they have interesting things to say. Yeah, they are musically inclined to rebel. Yeah, they are best thing currently on the radio right now. My point is, we are consumers and we each individually consume what goes well with each and every one of us. The indie kids have their bands I have never, ever heard of and the mainstream kids have MTV and pop radio. I have my CD player, my wallet, and time to head to the mall. Admit it everyone, we like to consume music. Every member of Songmeanings is a consumer in some form of another. We may find distinctions between all forms of music and we bite and fight like disenchanted lovers over who deserves to be played more than someone else. I think those of us who can stand anything in the way of entertainment are the ones who truly understand this fight over music. It's meaningless and has no bearing on the outcome of our lives. It's nothing more than consumption and the major means that an act can get paid. We can sit here and complain about how the music bears out on society but in the end, it's the loss of your bottom line and the rise of somebody else's bottom line.

If you don't believe me, that's your choice.

opinionhead, well put; sounded almost poetic.

It's true, yet i hate to admit. Music is part of my foundation in life, hence why i would be a consumer, along with everyone else with whom is a member on songmeanings, but, like you, i have my cd player, my money stuffed in my pocket, and time to head to record and tape traders...and i'm aware music can brain warp me like religion, and in the end (or even just the end of the day) take me nowhere, but, yea, all in all, (after jumping from topic to topic) i agree with you. .....although i'm 99% sure, aside from not knowing you personally, that you love music die hard...

as do i.

Greenday rule. But for fucks sake ur all assholes. Stop arguing. if someone has an opinion on music so fucking what.music is supposed to make you feel how you want it to feel. Music is NOT about arguing, or who knows more about music, or who is more correct. Becasue your al right. At thedrive in is right in his opinion and that is all that should fucking matter. Generes are fading out, greenday ARE pop, becasue pop means popular, if greenday are your favourite band you should feel priviliged that they are popular. YOU ARE PATHETIC IF YOU HATE THE FACT THAT MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE LOVE GREENDAY. I WOULD LOVE TO BE IN A BAND THAT ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE LIKE BECASE ID FEEL AS IF I WAS SERVING A PURPOUSE.ID BE PLEASED AS FUCK IF MY MUSIC WAS GETTING THROUGH TO PEOPLE. NOW EVERY1 EITHER START COMMENTING ON THE MEANING OF THIS SONG ANDBLAST A BIT OF GREENDAY ON THE STEREO OF FUCK OFF

First of all Pixiehoppus:
Caps Lock off please...

Second: If you don't like to discuss a song, then this is not the kind of homepage you should be visitng, because that's what we do on this homepage.

Even though I'm arguing against you, I agree with that pop means popular, so yes, GD must be that.

And you know why the are popular? Because they are fucking overplayed. I mean, even though I don't listen to radio, it can't be avoided to hear it sometimes, it's played almost constantly, so that people are getting used to it, even if they didn't like the song at first.

And last, brilliant post OpinionHead.

If you say Greenday sold out than you missed your time to bitch cause they've been mainstream for years. It's effing frustrating too, cause now all sorts of teeny boopers and arvil fans (god forbid) and people who say 'lol' are like 'oh greenday is my life!' and it's a bummer. It's a sad day when Greenday is pop...

rubie soho is so right, however the song is catchy and nice to listen to. mainstream pays!!! so for all who are against mainstream, you just learned something new today. this song means to me that life is a lonely road no matter how many friends you think you have, you are all you have! great song and true at that....
