So move, yeah move
So move, yeah move
I've got no where to go
I've got no where to go
So move
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
So move, yeah move
I've got no where to go
I've got no where to go
So move
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can woah woah woah woah
I can woah woah woah woah
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can woah woah woah woah
I can woah woah woah woah
I can woah woah woah woah
I can woah woah woah woah
So move, yeah move
I've got no where to go
I've got no where to go
So move
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
So move, yeah move
I've got no where to go
I've got no where to go
So move
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
Don't move so slow
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can woah woah woah woah
I can woah woah woah woah
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it

it feels like she's talking to herself saying "so move", but she knows that she can't really go somewhere else,'cause she belongs where she is in that moment... so "i've got nowhere to go"
and probably she's waiting for the someone who's the reason she feels like that, to tell her "go" or "stay"...
and probably what the other person says is "go"...then the "i can't take it"...
anyway... beautiful song!
I feel like it captured the moment perfectly.
"So move..."
My parents are moving out of the country shortly after and I won't have a place to live. I'm not close to anyone in my family and my friends aren't reliable.
"I've got nowhere to go"
I'm so anxious and mad about everything that I've been pushing everything close to me out. It's come to the point where I'm beginning to resent my girlfriend so I actually want her to leave, yet when she does it's gonna break my heart more than anything...
"Don't move so slow.."
I hate everything about what's going on in my life right now that..
"I can't take it."
My life story.
I feel like the whole song is about feeling miserable and stuck with one's own life/love/whatever it may be, that things are starting to get unbearable "I can't take it" and the phrase "don't move so slow" is meant for the "I" person as a reminder that it's time to do something about the situation.
in a good way
Second, the meaning part. So Id listened to this song a fair bit and just thought Id check out what people had to say about it on here... after reading some interpretations I noticed the interview extract where Tegan kind of tells the story behind the song, ish, and describes hearing it for the first time as 'like Sara was standing on [her] chest'. Well now I cannot listen to it the same way again. I've been listening to it on repeat for a while now, cannot stop crying, and Im now feeling that weight on my chest. Probably not in the same way Tegan did, seeing as I have no connection to the lyricist... but Oh. My. God. This is now probably one of my favourite songs every written, and this right here is why I love music so much.
This amazing pure heartbreaking emotion can be portrayed so intensely and yet so simply through four and a half minutes of music. In terms of meaning, I have no connection to the subject matter, and yet Im completely defeated by emotion right now.
The passion and emotion in her voice when she sings 'don't move so slow' is fucking beautiful. Id really like to see a movie of this being recorded or something, cause it sounds so honest and just... brilliant!
In terms of what I can contribute to this board... not a lot, Id suggest reading that interview extract... but the 'outro', if you will, I think perfectly captures the meaning of the song. The repetition of 'I can't take it' is kind of haunting... she sings it perfectly controlled, and yet in my head somehow I can practically hear someone desperately screaming the words.
Im so glad that this song is as 'simple' as it is. They haven't over-complicated it and you're just left with this stripped down... perfect communication of feeling.
Id agree with whoever said it was interesting how vague the lyrics seem yet how the meaning is so clear. Particularly after reading Tegan's explanation, this definitely seems like a goodbye song.
This is an insanely long comment, so I'll stop. But man I love this song!
